We are now looking for an EMC Engineer to join our R&D team in Kolding, Denmark.

As an EMC Engineer, you'll play a crucial role as part of the R&D team and will participate in the development of energy management products with special focus on 3 phase Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and power converters.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead or participate in architecture reviews and design reviews to ensure EMC considerations are addressed from concept stage through product release.
  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, grounding concepts, shielding strategies, cable routing, and mechanical designs from an EMC perspective.
  • Define EMC design guidelines and best practices for hardware development teams.
  • Contribute to remove or to mitigate risk regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interferences (EMI) during entire product life cycles from design proof of concept, development, or typical sustain/maintain stages 
  • Collaborate with design engineers to advise on EMC requirements, test specifications and production of test procedures and reports as required.
  • Key stakeholder on idea proposal to achieve the EMC/EMI requirements; Develop and validate corrective actions to meet EMC requirements while balancing performance, cost, and time-to-market.
  • Create and execute EMC/EMI test plans for system and/or subsystems including test setup definiton and preparation;
  • Perform internal pre-liminary or pre-compliance EMC/EMI test for risk mitigation 
  • Interface with certification bodies, test laboratories, suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities as required. 
  • Manage EMI/EMC product compliance related documentation (reports, certificates) 
  • Define long-term EMC laboratory roadmap including equipment investments, facility upgrades, automation, and testing methodologies.
  • Evaluate and justify EMC laboratory investments through technical and business cases.
  • Ensure EMC laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and compliant with quality requirements.
  • Lead EMC troubleshooting and root cause investigations using laboratory measurements, modelling, simulation tools, and engineering analysis.
  • Interpret and apply international EMC standards and regulations such as IEC, CISPR, EN, FCC, MIL, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Monitor changes in EMC regulations and standards and evaluate their impact on current and future products.
  • Train or mentoring new team members on the subject matter 
  • Other assignments connected with EMC/EMI as required 

What will help you succeed

  • A degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • A few years of hands-on experience with EMC testing, including equipment and methods such as EMI test receivers, surge, burst and ESD testing, and LISN networks.
  • Experience with power converters is considered an advantage.
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
