Engineering Manager/Technical Lead

You’ll lead a software engineering team within one of our product domains, writing code alongside them while shaping technical direction. You’ll partner with Product Managers, Architects and Engineering Leaders to deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions that create real value for our customers. This is a hands-on role: you’ll design systems, review and write production code, and set the engineering standard through your own work.

Just as importantly, you’ll grow the engineers around you, building a culture of learning, ownership and quality.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers, staying hands-on with coding, code reviews and technical problem-solving.
• Design and build systems using C# and .NET, with frontend and cloud components, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Drive technical design, architecture decisions and engineering standards across your product domain.
• Partner with Product Managers to define, prioritise and deliver software that solves real customer problems, bringing a product mindset to technical trade-offs.
• Deliver secure, scalable and resilient systems using modern cloud and software engineering practices.
• Build and maintain integrations with enterprise and third-party platforms using APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Champion DevOps, automation, observability and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to engineering communities and help raise capability across the broader technology organisation.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, curiosity and learning.

Who We're Looking For

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in C# and .NET.
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Team Leader, Senior/Principal Engineer, or technical mentor, with the ability to guide a development team while remaining hands-on.
• Solid system design skills: microservices, distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with modern frontend development (e.g., React, Angular or Blazor).
• Cloud-native development, ideally on Microsoft Azure.
• DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automated testing.
• Enterprise integrations using APIs, SaaS platforms and authentication frameworks (e.g., OAuth2/OIDC).
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and helping a team deliver consistently.
• A product mindset: you understand customer needs, prioritise by value and make pragmatic trade-offs.
• Agile delivery within cross-functional Scrum teams.
• Stakeholder management and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams.
• Good English communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical topics, explain technical decisions, and collaborate effectively with international stakeholders.
