Enterprise BI Lead in our office in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and own certified gold semantic models on the Group data platform, replacing legacy reports and inconsistent KPI logic with a single source of truth
- Define and enforce the Group’s Power BI standards: data modelling patterns, DAX conventions, report design, naming, documentation and certification criteria
- Own Power BI governance: workspace architecture, deployment pipelines, security and row-level access, dataset certification and tenant best practices
- Deliver flagship executive reporting - including the Group Sales targets-vs-delivery dashboard and automated Finance end-of-quarter reporting (revenue, cost, margin) - on the gold model
- Lead the migration of legacy reports onto certified models and retire duplicated or untrusted reporting
- Champion AI-enabled BI: adopt Copilot and natural-language Q&A over certified semantic models, apply AI-assisted development in DAX and data modelling, and define the governance for responsible AI use in reporting
- Optimize model and report performance (query tuning, incremental refresh, aggregations, capacity management)
- Partner with Data Engineering on data contracts, gold-layer table design and data quality for analytical use
- Coach and mentor Senior BI Analysts and Data Analysts; review their models and reports against the standards you set
- Evolve the BI hub into a Group Centre of Excellence as new entities onboard, with shared workspaces, shared datasets and a repeatable onboarding pattern
Skills & Competencies
- Expert-level command of the Microsoft Power BI stack: advanced DAX, Power Query / M, and Tabular semantic model design at enterprise scale
- Proven ability to define BI standards and governance and to bring an organization onto them
- Strong stakeholder management up to executive level; able to translate business questions into certified metrics and defend a single source of truth
- A builder’s mindset: comfortable starting from an exposed capability gap and shipping quickly without sacrificing governance
- Coaching and technical leadership of analysts and developers, including structured review of their work
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted analytics (Copilot for Power BI / Fabric, LLM-assisted development) and a considered view on where it adds value and where it needs guardrails
Experience Requirements
- 8+ years in Business Intelligence / analytics engineering, including 5+ years of deep, hands-on Power BI at enterprise scale
- Demonstrable ownership of at least one enterprise semantic model serving multiple audiences (executives through to operational teams)
- Strong SQL and experience working against a modern cloud data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake or equivalent)
- Experience implementing Power BI governance in a multi-team or multi-entity environment (deployment pipelines, certification, security)
- Exposure to AI-assisted BI development and/or embedding AI features into reporting is a strong plus
- Financial services or fintech background preferred; leveraged trading / brokerage exposure is a strong advantage
- Educated to degree level (BA/BSc or equivalent), preferably in a numerate discipline, or compensating experience
