What You'll Do

Snowflake Engineering

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on Snowflake

  • Develop databases, schemas, tables, views, secure views, stages, and other Snowflake objects

  • Build production-grade SQL and Snowpark-based transformations

  • Implement Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe, and related capabilities

  • Design incremental processing and change-data-capture patterns

  • Optimize Snowflake queries, warehouses, clustering strategies, and storage patterns

  • Monitor and optimize Snowflake compute consumption and platform costs

  • Implement secure data-sharing and access patterns

Data Pipeline Development

  • Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data

  • Develop batch, incremental, near-real-time, and event-driven ingestion pipelines

  • Integrate data from Salesforce, REST APIs, SaaS applications, AWS, databases, and file-based sources

  • Implement reusable ingestion and transformation frameworks

  • Build pipelines capable of handling schema evolution, late-arriving data, retries, and replay

  • Develop reconciliation processes to ensure source-to-target completeness and accuracy

  • Build orchestration workflows with appropriate dependency and failure management

Data Modeling

  • Design scalable analytical and operational data models

  • Build dimensional models, fact and dimension tables, data marts, and curated datasets

  • Translate complex source-system structures into standardized enterprise data models

  • Establish consistent definitions for core business entities and metrics

  • Design data layers that support analytics, reporting, operational applications, and AI workloads

  • Balance performance, usability, maintainability, and storage efficiency in data-model design

Salesforce Data Integration

  • Build reliable pipelines ingesting Salesforce objects and related data into Snowflake

  • Work with Salesforce APIs, Bulk API, Change Data Capture, and Platform Events where appropriate

  • Handle Salesforce relationships, custom objects, schema changes, and large-volume datasets

  • Build incremental and CDC-based synchronization patterns

  • Implement reconciliation and data-quality controls between Salesforce and Snowflake

AWS Integration

  • Build data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and related technologies

  • Design secure data movement between AWS and Snowflake

  • Build event-driven ingestion and processing workflows

  • Manage file-based ingestion, staging, and archival patterns

  • Implement appropriate IAM, encryption, secrets management, and access controls

Data Quality & Observability

  • Implement automated data-quality validation and testing

  • Build monitoring for pipeline freshness, completeness, accuracy, and failures

  • Implement logging, metrics, alerts, and operational dashboards

  • Establish source-to-target reconciliation processes

  • Investigate and resolve production data incidents

  • Identify upstream and downstream impacts of data changes

Performance & Cost Optimization

  • Analyze query profiles and optimize expensive Snowflake workloads

  • Optimize warehouse sizing, auto-suspend, auto-resume, and workload isolation

  • Improve SQL performance and data-processing efficiency

  • Monitor storage and compute consumption

  • Identify opportunities to reduce pipeline runtime and infrastructure cost

Engineering Excellence

  • Write clean, reusable, testable, and maintainable code

  • Participate in architecture and code reviews

  • Build automated testing into data pipelines

  • Maintain technical documentation, data mappings, and runbooks

  • Contribute to CI/CD and automated deployment practices

  • Mentor other Data Engineers and help establish engineering standards
