Environmental Health & Safety Specialis

Role Description The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is a part-time remote role focused on supporting safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible practices across He for She’s operations and initiatives. This role involves assessing environmental health risks, monitoring compliance with relevant regulations, and developing EHS guidelines that align with the organization’s values of safety and equity. Day-to-day tasks include conducting risk assessments, reviewing policies, preparing reports, and recommending improvements to occupational health and environmental compliance processes. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams to communicate EHS standards, provide guidance and training materials, and ensure that remote work practices and program activities support a safe and sustainable environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS).
• Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Compliance and Occupational Health.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards, and ability to interpret and apply them in a remote setting.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, or compliance reviews in nonprofit, corporate, or public-sector environments is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, manage part-time remote responsibilities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant education in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and ethical work practices is an asset.
