Finance Assistant
Reporting to Lee Cairns and Naomi Anderson (Financial Controller and Finance Manager)
Glasgow City Centre | Full-time | Hybrid after probation |

PRIMAL is who we are. Strength is what we do.

We believe strength is in all of us, and our purpose is to equip everybody to reach their full potential. We supply strength and fitness equipment to customers around the world. That ranges from home gyms and personal trainers to full turnkey fit-outs for national gym chains, professional sports teams and corporate training spaces.

We’re growing fast, and our finance team is growing with us.

The role

As our Finance Assistant you’ll keep the numbers moving. You’ll make sure customers’ payments land in the right place, suppliers get paid on time, and the business has the information it needs to make good decisions. It’s a varied, hands-on job in a team that values ownership, attention to detail and getting stuck in.

What you’ll be doing

  • Allocating daily customer payments and keeping the ledgers accurate
  • Day-to-day bookkeeping
  • Running accounts payable, including supplier reconciliations and payment runs
  • Supporting internal reporting and month-end
  • Helping with audit preparation and vendor financing requests
  • Payroll administration in BambooHR
  • Keeping the office running: ordering stationery, supplies and packaging, and acting as the go-to contact for our external IT support

What we’re looking for

  • Over 1 years’ experience in a finance team or similar
  • Confidence with accounting software, e.g. Xero and Excel
  • A proactive, organised approach, and you’re happy to pick things up and run with them
  • A willingness to learn and grow with the business

Nice to have: payroll experience, AAT (studying or qualified), or experience liaising with IT providers. Don’t worry if you don’t have these yet; we’ll support you.

What’s in it for you

  • A package that rewards strong performance
  • 31 days’ annual leave (including public holidays)
  • A paid volunteering day every year
  • Gym membership (naturally)
  • 1 day a week working from home after probation
  • Flexible start and finish times around core hours of 9:30am–4:30pm

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day with one hour lunch break, with flexibility to suit you and the business (core hours 9.30am – 4.30pm).

To apply, please submit your CV along with a cover letter.
