Role purpose

A full-time analyst role supporting the finance function and Risk and Commercial teams at Mint Payments.

You’ll develop and maintain financial models, deliver commercial insights, and support financial planning, customer analytics, and merchant credit risk assessment. Suited to someone with 2–3 years’ relevant experience, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of analytical work and contribute to decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

Financial modelling & planning

  • Maintain and enhance the core financial model, working closely with the Financial Controller and fractional CFO.
  • Contribute to the FY27 budget, multi-year planning, and ongoing forecast updates.
  • Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers, variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate strategic options and inform decision-making.
  • Maintain model accuracy and integrity through robust checks, documentation, and version control.

Business cases & commercial analysis

  • Develop ROI models and financial business cases for new products, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyse unit economics, including customer acquisition cost, cost-to-serve, and lifetime value.
  • Assess margins, pricing structures, and customer- and product-level profitability.
  • Translate financial analysis into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders.

Commercial & customer analytics

  • Partner with the Commercial and Sales teams to analyse sales pipelines, merchant performance, and transaction trends.
  • Analyse customer segmentation, behaviour, retention, and revenue contribution.
  • Develop and maintain reporting that tracks key commercial metrics and highlights opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
  • Present findings clearly to support commercial planning and prioritisation.

Credit risk modelling

  • Support the Risk team with merchant credit risk modelling, including credit assessments, exposure analysis, and merchant limits.
  • Gather and analyse financial and transactional data to inform risk assessments.
  • Develop and refine models, including stress and sensitivity testing, to assess potential chargeback and insolvency exposure within travel payments.
  • Work with the Risk team to identify emerging trends and communicate findings.

Broader finance & analytical support

  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, modelling, and presentations across Finance, Commercial, and Risk.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, and analytical processes.
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, timely work.

Who we’re looking for

  • 2–3 years’ relevant experience in financial analysis, commercial analysis, FP&A, financial modelling, or a similar analytical role.
  • A degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Strong Excel skills and practical experience building and maintaining financial models.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights.
  • A structured, accurate approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain findings to non-finance stakeholders.
  • The ability to take ownership of tasks, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
  • An interest in payments, fintech, or financial services; experience in these sectors would be advantageous.

What you’ll get

  • Direct exposure to senior Finance, Risk, and Commercial leaders.
  • Broad experience across financial modelling, planning, commercial analysis, customer analytics, and merchant credit risk.
  • The opportunity to own meaningful analytical work and see your insights inform business decisions.
  • A hybrid working arrangement within a travel payments technology business.
