Finance Operations Lead
UnderDefense is empowering organizations to defend against cyber threats. We are setting a new standard for security and are looking for a Finance Operations Lead to strengthen our financial operations and support our growing international business.
As a Finance Operations Lead, you’ll lead our finance team, take ownership of financial reporting, cash flow, and operations across multiple international entities. You’ll play a key role in building efficient, reliable, and scalable financial processes, combining hands-on expertise with leadership to drive improvements and support business growth. This is not a purely strategic or supervisory role. We need someone who understands the details, can solve complex problems independently, challenge existing processes, and drive improvements rather than simply maintain what already exists.
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, or financial operations, with proven team leadership experience;
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, IFRS, month-end closing, reconciliation, and financial reporting;
Experience working with international businesses and multiple legal entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidation;
Ability to prepare, review, and interpret P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements;
Experience managing financial operations, payments, payroll, taxation, and financial controls;
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial data into clear business insights;
Proven experience improving, standardizing, or automating financial processes;
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems;
Understanding of SaaS financial metrics, including ARR, MRR, churn, and deferred revenue;
English: Intermediate+ for communication with international colleagues, clients, and external partners;
Strong ownership, proactive communication, and the ability to independently drive tasks to completion.
Nice to have:
Background in Big Four audit firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) with an interest in transitioning into an in-house finance leadership role;
Experience in an international SaaS, IT, or technology company;
ACCA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification;
Experience with NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks, Stripe, or Chargebee;
Experience coordinating external audits and working with US and European legal entities;
Track record of building or transforming financial processes in a growing business.
Responsibilities:
Finance operations: Oversee accounting, payments, payroll, receivables, payables, taxation, and intercompany transactions across international entities;
Financial reporting: Own month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, consolidation, and accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and management reporting;
Financial accuracy: Validate financial data, resolve discrepancies, and deliver reliable reports and business insights for management and investors;
Cash flow & controls: Monitor cash flow, expenses, financial obligations, payment approvals, and budget compliance;
Process optimization: Improve and automate financial workflows, reduce manual work, and establish scalable procedures and internal controls;
International compliance: Coordinate external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors, ensuring timely reporting and compliance across jurisdictions;
Team leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and drive independent, high-quality execution.
Benefits
Strategic role in a growing international cybersecurity company;
Flexible working hours and hybrid work options;

Competitive compensation fixed in USD;
Direct collaboration with senior leadership and real impact on business decisions;
Paid vacation and sick leave;
