About the role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Australian finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing renewable energy business while gaining exposure to a broad range of financial accounting, reporting, compliance and process improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end AP and AR processes, including reconciliations, invoicing, collections and payment cycles.
- Complete month-end and year-end close activities, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support financial reporting, audits, BAS preparation, GST compliance and tax obligations, including Project Development Assets.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and assist with project spend reporting.
- Project reporting with potential to develop PowerBi reports.
- Support SAP implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial controls, reporting and operational efficiency.
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards qualification).
- Approximately 5+ years' experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Background in renewable energy, infrastructure, or energy-related industries is an added advantage
- Experience within a large organisation, multinational or shared services environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations (GST, WHT, and corporate tax).
- SAP FICO experience highly regarded; Xero experience also beneficial.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills with strong analytical capability.
- Financial Modelling experience a plus
- Ability to work autonomously while building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with large company processes, approvals, and work culture.
- Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship required.
