At GapGuru, we're looking for an enthusiastic, driven and people-focused Gap Year Programme Manager to help grow our International Internships programmes.

This is a relationship-led business development role with a strong student support focus. You'll connect with gap year counsellors across the United States, introduce students to exciting opportunities abroad and guide them from their first enquiry through to enrolment and departure.

You'll be speaking with young people exploring their options, parents looking for reassurance and counsellors seeking meaningful opportunities for their students. We're looking for someone who can connect naturally with all three, build trust and turn genuine interest into confirmed bookings.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your pipeline, develop international partnerships and help more young people experience the confidence, independence and personal growth that comes from travelling abroad.

What You'll Bring

• Experience or demonstrated success in sales, business development, student recruitment, enrolment or a similar relationship-focused role.
• The ability to connect naturally with young adults while communicating confidently and professionally with parents and educational counsellors.
• Strong relationship-building and consultative skills, with a genuine interest in understanding people's goals and helping them make informed decisions.
• A proactive, independent approach, with the motivation to achieve targets and manage your own pipeline.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to support students throughout their enrolment and pre-departure journey.
• A genuine passion for international travel, education and the personal development of young people.

Experience working with the US market, particularly in gap year programmes, student travel, international education or university recruitment, would be a strong advantage.

What You'll Get

A starting salary of R25,000 per month, with flexibility to discuss a higher salary depending on your experience and what you bring to the role, alongside a performance-based bonus structure.

You'll enjoy fully remote working, training and ongoing support, and the opportunity to build international partnerships while helping young people access meaningful experiences abroad.

You'll also be part of a supportive, international team, with the opportunity to take ownership of your work, develop your skills and contribute directly to the growth of GapGuru's International Internships programmes.
