Group Compensation & Benefits Specialist

Bucharest | Hybrid | €40,000–45,000 gross/year

You enjoy the detail behind compensation—and turning it into sound business decisions.

We’re looking for an experienced C&B professional who wants a hands-on Specialist role with international scope.

You’ll work on compensation frameworks, salary reviews, incentives and benefits for a group with 1,700+ employees across several European countries. Expect detailed analysis, responsibility for reward processes and opportunities to shape recommendations.

Based in the Group Shared Services Center in Bucharest, you’ll report directly to the Group Chief People & Culture Officer.

If you bring solid practical C&B experience, strong analytical skills and the confidence to work independently with international stakeholders in English, this could be a good fit.

The role in detail

You’ll combine the development and maintenance of compensation frameworks with process delivery and analysis. Working with Group HR leadership and local HR and Finance teams, you’ll help connect Group principles with local market realities.

Compensation structures and reviews

  • Develop and maintain compensation policies, salary structures and pay bands.
  • Manage job grading and job evaluation frameworks.
  • Coordinate annual salary reviews across Business Units.
  • Conduct benchmarking, assess market competitiveness and analyse internal equity.
  • Support gender pay gap assessments and preparation for European pay transparency requirements.

Incentives and benefits

  • Design, review and administer short-term incentive schemes.
  • Support long-term incentives, including equity-based programs.
  • Review benefits and identify opportunities for harmonization.
  • Evaluate reward programs for competitiveness, effectiveness and financial sustainability.

Analysis and international collaboration

  • Support HR budgeting and workforce cost modelling.
  • Analyse compensation costs and payroll-related data, preparing reports, scenarios and recommendations.
  • Work with Finance to assess the financial impact of reward decisions.
  • Support international mobility and expatriate compensation matters, considering local tax, social security and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on compensation topics.

Payroll processing is outside the scope of this role.

The experience you’ll need

You’ll bring hands-on expertise in benchmarking, grading, salary structures, compensation reviews and incentive schemes, ideally across multiple countries.

Strong Excel skills, confidence with workforce costs and financial analysis, and an understanding of pay equity are essential. You should be able to explain your recommendations clearly and handle sensitive information with accuracy and discretion.

International SSC, GBS or BPO experience would be an advantage.

What’s included

  • €40,000–45,000 gross/year.
  • Hybrid working in Bucharest.
  • Meal vouchers and private medical subscription.
  • Group-level scope and direct collaboration with HR leadership.
