About the role The Financial Control team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Tyro’s financial information through the delivery of accurate accounting, robust controls and timely financial reporting that supports internal decision-making, external reporting and regulatory compliance. The Group Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Group’s accounting close, finance operations and financial control environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role leads a small team and drives continuous improvement to support efficient, scalable and well-controlled finance operations. What you'll do Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accounting activities are completed accurately, on time and supported by appropriate review. Review soft close results and collaborate with FP&A to provide insightful commentary to the CFO by BD3. Oversee finance and payments operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance-related Jira and Salesforce cases, and payment processing activities. Review and approve payment runs in accordance with delegated authority and internal control requirements. Review Payment Times Reporting. Own balance sheet integrity, including review of bank reconciliations, other balance sheet reconciliations, substantiation of balances and resolution of reconciling items. Support the assessment and documentation of accounting treatments, judgements and estimates, ensuring alignment with AASB / IFRS and Tyro’s accounting policies. Support the preparation and review of half-year and year-end financial reporting deliverables, including financial statement inputs, audit support and management analysis. Collaborate with FP&A on the annual budget and monthly forecasting process. Maintain and strengthen financial controls across accounting and finance operations, including review controls, approval processes, reconciliations and issue remediation. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies and finance procedures. Liaise with internal and external auditors, including coordination of audit requests, supporting documentation and issue resolution. Manage and mentor a team of 3 direct reports. Ensure process documentation is maintained and updated for changes in business activities, systems, controls and finance processes. Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements, automation opportunities and scalable ways of working across accounting and finance operations. Perform other ad hoc analysis, reporting and project work as required. What you'll bring Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications (CA, CPA or equivalent). Previous experience in managing, mentoring and growing a team. Strong knowledge of the prudential regulatory framework and standards will be highly regarded. Strong technical accounting skills, including a solid understanding and working knowledge of accounting processes, principles and standards (Australian Accounting Standards / IFRS). Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory reporting requirements. Well-developed communication skills and ability to solve problems with consideration to business impact. Excellent time management/planning skills and demonstrated analytical skills. Experience in ERP accounting systems and strong Excel skills. Experience in financial services or other regulated industries (desirable). What’s in it for you?
