The next InCommand is a new solution, built on a new technology stack, designed from the ground up for the way modern data centers, including high-density and AI infrastructure, are operated. It will be delivered as a cloud service and be deployable in customers' own environments, built API-first, and developed with an agent-assisted engineering practice in which coding agents work from specifications under human review. Our own facilities are the first customer, so everything we build is proven in real, live operations before anyone else sees it.
Someone has to decide what that product is: what it does, what it leaves behind, what comes first, and what the industry will pay for. As Head of Product that is your call, and the engineers and coding agents who build it work from what you write. You start with a rare advantage: a decade of operational knowledge about what the product has to do, and the people who use it every day sitting down the hall. You partner closely with Architecture, Integrations and Developer Platform, and you build the product function from there.
Key Accountabilities
• Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the new InCommand, from the first capabilities we prove on our own facilities to a product the industry adopts.
• Learn how a data center is run, on the floor and in the operations center: the power path from utility to rack, cooling, capacity, maintenance, alarms and customer requests. Turn that into the product's model of a facility and into workflows that operators and technicians trust.
• Own the living functional specification repository that engineers and coding agents build from, and the acceptance criteria that define what "done" means for every capability.
• Decide, capability by capability, what the new product does, what it does differently and what it leaves behind, using real usage data and the judgment of the operators who run data centers every day.
• Define the AI-first side of the product: insights, recommendations and an assistant built on live telemetry and years of operational history, with the provenance and control critical infrastructure demands.
• Make the product one the industry can adopt: bring operator and customer needs to engineering as requirements for the data model and the API, and make sure every capability meets the operational, security and compliance expectations of the people who run critical infrastructure.
• Shape packaging and pricing for a modular product offered in different deployment configurations.
Required Skills
• 8+ years in product management, including end-to-end ownership of a multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform or infrastructure product: roadmap, specifications and pricing.
• You have built product for physical infrastructure or industrial operations (data centers, critical facilities, energy, building systems, manufacturing or similar), where the product models real equipment and real sites, and where getting the data wrong has consequences.
• You have managed technical products for a technical audience: operators, engineers or administrators who use the product to run systems they are accountable for, and who judge it on precision and reliability rather than polish. You can hold your own in a design discussion about a data model, an API or a telemetry pipeline, and write requirements an engineer can build from without a meeting.
• You have built a product from scratch: defined what it is and what it is not, and made hard scoping decisions early with incomplete information.
• You do your discovery where the work happens: on site, in the operations center, with the people who run it, and you turn their tacit process into explicit requirements.
• You have defined AI-driven product capabilities (insights, recommendations, assistants) and know what makes them trustworthy to users; you use AI tools in your own work every day.
• You have packaged and priced modular enterprise software.
• You communicate plainly, in writing and in person, and can make a product case to executives and to engineers alike.
Preferred Skills
• Worked on, bought or operated a DCIM, BMS, EPMS or CMMS product: the data they manage, how data-center operators use them and how they are bought.
• Worked in or alongside critical-facilities engineering: power distribution, cooling, monitoring and control systems.
• Product experience with observability, monitoring or other high-volume telemetry products, and a feel for telemetry economics: cost-to-serve, data value and packaging.
• Shipped an AI assistant or AI-driven insight capability: evaluation, trust, provenance, retrieval over operational data.
• Worked as the product counterpart of an architecture team on an API-first product, turning customer needs into requirements the team builds against.
• Worked in a specification-driven or AI-assisted development practice, where coding agents are first-class participants in how a product gets built.
