Dune Strategy is a management consulting firm that advises international investors, family groups, and sovereign-linked entities on the commercial decisions that define their position in the Gulf region. Based in Dubai, the firm works on market entry, regional expansion, complex transactions, and joint ventures, and keeps a deliberately small portfolio of active engagements. The Help Desk Assistant keeps the day-to-day flow of requests and information running so that the people working on those engagements always have what they need, when they need it.
About the role
This is a permanent, full-time role, and it is fully remote. You will be the first point of contact for internal requests that come in from the team, and the person who makes sure nothing slips through. Much of the work is practical: logging what comes in, routing it to the right person, following up until it is closed, and keeping a clear record of what happened.
You do not need to know the answer to every question. You need to be the person who finds the answer, keeps the request moving, and reports back with something useful.
What you will do
The firm is small by design. That means fewer layers, shorter conversations, and a direct line to the people making the commercial call. Work is measured by what it produces: a clear position, a document that can be used, a request that was handled properly the first time. We write plainly, we say when something is unclear, and we do not dress up a weak answer as a strong one. If you are early in your career and want to learn how complex markets actually operate, this is a place where you will see that up close.

Much of the work is practical: logging what comes in, routing it to the right person, following up until it is closed, and keeping a clear record of what happened.
You do not need to know the answer to every question. You need to be the person who finds the answer, keeps the request moving, and reports back with something useful.
What you will do
- Monitor the shared request channels and respond to incoming questions within the working day.
- Log each request in the tracker, note the person who raised it, the priority, and the expected turnaround.
- Route requests to the right member of the team and follow up until the item is closed.
- Find answers in internal documents, past files, and public sources, then summarise what you found in plain language.
- Support the preparation of briefing materials by formatting documents, checking details, and assembling attachments.
- Keep a record of recurring questions so that the team can fix the underlying cause rather than the same request each time.
- Run small administrative tasks around meetings, file organisation, and follow-up notes.
- Flag anything unusual, urgent, or unclear to the person responsible, rather than letting it sit.
- Clear thinking. You can take a vague request and work out what the person actually needs.
- Good writing. Your messages are short, accurate, and easy to act on.
- A practical mindset. You would rather solve the request than describe why it is difficult.
- Comfort with detail. Names, dates, and figures matter here, and you check your own work.
- Reliability. If you say it will be done by a certain time, it is.
- Curiosity. You ask the next question when something does not add up.
- Comfort working remotely: clear written updates, sensible handling of your own schedule, and no need for constant supervision.
- An interest in finance, economics, or politics, and a habit of reading the news with some attention.
- Experience with spreadsheets, documents, or a ticketing or tracker tool, whether from study, an internship, or part-time work.
- Coursework or a degree in business, economics, law, or a related area. This is helpful rather than required.
- Any experience in a support, research, or administrative role, including student societies and volunteer work.
- Fully remote work, with the tools and access you need to do the job from wherever you are set up.
- Direct contact with partners on live commercial matters, rather than distance from the work.
- A view of how regulatory shifts and sovereign capital priorities show up in real transactions.
- A chance to build research and writing habits that hold up in any commercial setting.
- A small team where your output is visible and your questions get answered.
