Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities

Context

The task of the expert Linux Kubernetes is to set up and maintain a number of systems that are used by the client.

This includes day-to-day management of the existing systems (follow-up of backup and monitoring, resolution of incidents,...) but also design and implementation of major changes, new systems or removal of old systems.

The primary focus for this feature is strongly on the further development of Kubernetes as a platform for both purchased and in-house developed applications.

Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes platform management (on-prem) and use, orchestration and container technology is therefore necessary for this position.

The ICT expert will work within the LUNS team of IT operations. This is a team that is responsible for managing all Linux systems, all network equipment and all storage equipment of LV. Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes and Linux is by far the most important for this position, but knowledge, experience or interest in enterprise network and storage management is also seen as a plus.

Must have Skills

• Proven experience with the use of ansible configuration management in an enterprise environment
• Proven experience in setting up, upgrading, configuring and using a Kubernetes platform in an enterprise environment, preferably on-prem.

Should Have Skills

• Demonstrable experience with build and release automation tools, such as Azure Devops Server.
• Demonstrable experience with linux scripting: bash, python, perl
• Proven experience with Linux system management in an enterprise environment (preferably Suse Linux Enterprise Server)
• Demonstrable experience with monitoring: elastic, nagios
• Demonstrable experience with networking in an enterprise environment: cisco ACI, palo alto firewalls, F5 big ip.
• Proven experience with storage in enterprise environment: netapp AFF, HPE Alletra 9000, HPE Storeonce
