Job Description
We are looking for an IT Business Analyst IV to support our technology initiatives through requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, and process optimization. This role will contribute to business analysis and project delivery, helping improve processes, validate solutions, and ensure technology initiatives align with business needs.
This is a hybrid position based at One Galle Face. This position will be onsite at our temporary office one (1) day per week; however, following the completion of our new office construction, this position will be onsite two (2) days per week.
Working hours: 8-5 M-F, with flexibility for nighttime meetings with US clients (through 11:30 PM SLST)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate collaborative requirements-gathering sessions with clients and project stakeholders, translating business objectives into well-defined functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Streamline documentation, generate test cases, and summarize requirements, using AI tools as applicable
- Update project tracking tools, including project timelines, capacity planning, and sprint metrics
- Perform SQL queries and database validation to verify data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with business rules
- Analyze and interpret data sets to support decision-making and requirement validation
- Design and execute basic QA automation scripts using tools such as Postman, Selenium, or equivalent to support smoke and regression testing
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT); validate issues and collaborate with development and QA teams to resolve defects
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation or tooling enhancements
- Create and maintain Agile artifacts including JIRA backlogs, Confluence documentation, release notes, and dashboards
- Assist in standardizing BA templates, workflows, and checklists to improve team efficiency
- Partner with technical leads to review API contracts, integration flows, and system dependencies
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge management efforts
- Draft and disseminate IT-related internal communications
- Facilitate daily Scrum standups and contribute to Agile ceremonies
- Proactively communicate project updates and escalate impediments in a timely manner
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Leadership
Requirements
- Proven experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Ability to write queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis across relational databases
- Working knowledge of data validation and database testing principles
- Familiarity with QA methodologies, test planning, and automation tools
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI-based tools for documentation, analysis, and test optimization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to collaborate effectively with US-based clients
- High level of integrity, tact, and diplomacy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; proven ability to meet deadlines
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and ownership mentality
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or a similar role
