Hiring Company:

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend systems and data structures for high-volume distributed processing and storage.
• Improve performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and data consistency across distributed databases.
• Contribute to storage architecture design and evaluation of next-generation distributed database technologies.
• Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with backend and SRE teams to improve reliability, observability, testing, and deployment processes.
• Depending on the team and component, participate in on-call support for service availability.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience designing, architecting, and implementing systems or solutions.
• Experience working with distributed systems and/or databases.
• Strong fundamentals in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, networking, and parallel processing.
• Experience designing systems with non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and availability.
• Team development experience.
• Advanced English and Japanese at N2 level or above.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with high-volume data processing or large-scale backend services.
• Knowledge of distributed databases or storage technologies such as Redis, Apache HBase, or YugabyteDB.
• Understanding of consistency models, replication, partitioning, and distributed-system trade-offs.
• Experience with SRE practices, incident management, or SLI/SLO definition.
• Familiarity with observability tools, CI/CD, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security and privacy best practices.

Working Hours:

Full flextime

Working Style:

Hybrid — 3 days in the office and 2 days WFH; office days are determined by the division lead.
