Lead Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to support the delivery of enterprise-level Data and AI initiatives. This is a client-facing, consultative role: you will work directly with client stakeholders to understand their business context, challenges, and desired outcomes, and shape the right solution to meet them. You will operate independently, owning the BA function end to end with minimal direction.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to analyse processes, define requirements, and translate business objectives into actionable deliverables. The ideal candidate is a proactive, consultative Business Analyst who takes ownership, builds trusted client relationships, and has experience supporting Data or AI-related projects.

You will also collaborate with geographically distributed business and technical teams, requiring occasional flexibility to accommodate meetings across different time zones.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead requirements discovery and facilitate workshops with client stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges, and objectives, and to define the right solution
• Act as a trusted advisor to the client: probe underlying needs, challenge assumptions, and help shape and validate the proposed solution
• Analyse business processes, identify gaps, and translate business requirements into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and workflows
• Work proactively with business stakeholders and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
• Own requirements management, backlog refinement, dependencies, and stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle, with minimal supervision
• Support solution validation, UAT, stakeholder demonstrations, documentation, and knowledge transfer, while identifying and driving resolution of risks and gaps

Requirements

• Strong Business Analysis experience at Lead level or equivalent seniority, with a proven track record delivering enterprise-level projects
• Consultative, client-facing experience: able to understand client needs, ask the right questions, and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions
• Mature stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to independently engage senior business stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and apply sound BA practices
• Highly proactive and self-driven, able to work independently, identify what needs to be done, take ownership, and drive activities forward without constant direction
• Experience working on Data OR AI-related projects, with practical exposure to at least one area. Experience with AI solutions such as workflows, chatbots, or meaningful POCs is particularly valuable
• Strong requirements gathering, process modelling, and documentation skills, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria, with experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered workflows, chatbots, AI assistants, or proof-of-concept implementations
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms, self-service analytics, or data-driven solutions
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and cross-functional technical teams
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
