2. Job Summary

The successful candidate will deliver undergraduate teaching in psychology, counselling and psychosocial wellbeing while supporting ethical, culturally responsive and student-centred learning. The lecturer should be able to prepare students for work in education, counselling, youth and family services, community programmes, workplaces and humanitarian settings.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, skills sessions, case discussions and other learning activities in assigned psychology and counselling courses.
• Teach relevant subjects such as major psychological theories, developmental psychology, social psychology, educational psychology, counselling theories, psychosocial support, youth and family counselling, workplace wellbeing, research methods and ethics.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, practical exercises and learning resources aligned with approved curricula and learning outcomes.
• Use role-play, case-based learning, reflective exercises and supervised skills practice to develop students' counselling and communication competencies.
• Teach and model ethical practice, safeguarding, confidentiality, professional boundaries and appropriate referral procedures.
• Set and mark examinations, assignments, presentations, case analyses, reflective work and other assessments and provide timely feedback.
• Supervise student research, projects, field placements or internships where assigned and within appropriate professional boundaries.
• Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and student-performance records and complete required academic documentation on time.
• Contribute to curriculum review, research, quality assurance, community engagement and development of practical teaching resources.

4. Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

• Minimum Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Mental Health, Counselling or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
• A relevant Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Psychology & Counselling or a related discipline is required.
• A PhD in a relevant discipline is an advantage.
• Relevant university teaching, counselling, psychosocial, research or professional experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of ethical counselling practice, safeguarding, confidentiality and referral systems is essential.
• Experience in education, youth and family services, community programmes, humanitarian response or workplace wellbeing is an advantage.
• Professional registration, certification or membership of an appropriate psychology/counselling body is an advantage where applicable.
