2. Job Summary
The successful candidate will deliver undergraduate teaching in e-commerce, digital marketing, technology-based business models, digital entrepreneurship and online business operations.
The lecturer should combine strong theoretical knowledge with practical, industry-relevant teaching, helping students understand how technology is transforming business, marketing, customer engagement, sales and entrepreneurship. The role should emphasise practical digital tools, data-driven decision-making, online business development and emerging digital technologies.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical exercises and other academic activities in assigned e-commerce and digital business subjects.
- Teach relevant areas such as e-commerce models, digital entrepreneurship, online business strategy, digital marketing, social media marketing and digital customer engagement.
- Teach e-commerce operations including online marketplaces, digital storefronts, payment systems, order management, customer service and fulfilment.
- Introduce students to digital marketing channels including search engine marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media, email marketing, content marketing, online advertising and influencer marketing.
- Teach digital consumer behaviour, customer journey mapping, online branding and customer relationship management.
- Develop teaching materials, practical exercises, business cases, digital marketing campaigns and e-commerce projects aligned with programme learning outcomes.
- Guide students in developing and evaluating online business ideas, digital products, e-commerce strategies and marketing plans.
- Introduce students to website and e-commerce platforms, analytics tools, social media management systems, advertising platforms and other relevant digital business technologies.
- Teach digital marketing analytics, campaign measurement, conversion rates, customer acquisition, engagement, retention and return on investment.
- Introduce students to emerging technologies affecting digital business, including artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, mobile commerce and digital payment technologies.
- Set and assess examinations, assignments, business plans, marketing campaigns, presentations, practical projects and case-study analyses and provide constructive feedback.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, entrepreneurship projects, digital business plans, capstone projects and internships where assigned.
- Encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, ethical digital practices, responsible use of data and professional online conduct.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and academic records and submit reports within required timelines.
- Contribute to curriculum development, research, quality assurance, academic events and engagement with businesses, technology companies and digital entrepreneurs.
4. Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A minimum Master's degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing, E-Commerce, Business Administration, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Digital Transformation or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
- A relevant Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, E-Commerce, Digital Business, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Management or a related field.
- A PhD in a relevant discipline is an advantage.
- Relevant university or higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, digital business, online entrepreneurship, business technology or related fields is an advantage.
- Practical experience developing or managing e-commerce businesses, digital marketing campaigns or online platforms is desirable.
- Experience with digital marketing analytics, SEO, social media advertising, content strategy, e-commerce platforms or customer relationship management systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of digital payments, mobile commerce, online marketplaces and technology-enabled business models is desirable.
- Experience working with businesses, technology companies, startups, marketing agencies or entrepreneurship programmes is an advantage.
