Low-Latency C++ Developer

Statech Asset Management · Istanbul, Hybrid · Anatolian(Dudullu) & European(Etiler) Side Offices

We trade on Borsa Istanbul using systems we build ourselves, from market data processing to order execution. In our small team, you can follow your work from development to live trading and see its impact through latency measurements, execution quality, and production behavior.

We are looking for engineers who enjoy understanding how software works—from language-level decisions to what happens in memory, on the CPU, and across the network.

About Statech

Statech Asset Management manages over TRY 3.8 billion in assets across its funds, including SFA and LPH. We combine quantitative research, in-house technology, and market data to develop and operate systematic investment strategies.

Engineering sits at the center of our investment process. We develop our own trading infrastructure using software and FPGA-based systems, connecting research to live execution.

Our structure is flat. Engineers work directly with researchers, traders, and infrastructure developers, own their work end to end, and contribute to technical decisions without unnecessary bureaucracy.

What You’ll Work On
  • Real-time market data: build components that receive, decode, and process market data efficiently and reliably.
  • Strategies and execution: develop strategy logic, trading signals, and order execution modules alongside researchers and traders.
  • Performance engineering: measure and improve latency, throughput, CPU usage, memory allocation, and network behavior under load.
  • Concurrency and memory: design threading, synchronization, and memory management approaches for performance-sensitive workloads.
  • Linux and networking: develop networked applications and investigate how operating system behavior affects their performance.
  • Production reliability: diagnose defects, investigate unexpected behavior, and improve monitoring and recovery.
  • Software design and tooling: build reusable components and improve testing, profiling, and development automation.
What We’re Looking For

Solid C++ foundations

You understand ownership, object lifetimes, RAII, templates, and the Standard Library. You can reason about how data structures, allocations, copies, and memory access patterns affect performance, and you care about writing clear, maintainable code.

Linux and systems understanding

You are comfortable developing on Linux and understand processes, threads, virtual memory, I/O, and system calls. You are curious about how CPU caches, paging, and scheduling shape application behavior.

Concurrency and networking fundamentals

You understand shared state, synchronization, and the challenges of concurrent programming. You have a working knowledge of TCP, UDP, and sockets. Familiarity with multicast is a plus.

Evidence-driven problem-solving

You break problems down, form hypotheses, and verify them through measurements. You use debugging and profiling tools such as GDB, perf, or Valgrind to understand behavior and evaluate improvements.

Collaboration and ownership

You communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and respond constructively to feedback. You are comfortable with Git and code review, and you follow your work through to a reliable result.

You should also be comfortable reading technical documentation in English.

We welcome both early-career and experienced candidates. Your technical understanding and problem-solving ability may come from professional work, personal projects, academic work, or open-source contributions. Responsibilities will reflect your strengths and grow with you.

Knowledge of financial markets is welcome but not required. Curiosity about algorithmic trading and a willingness to learn the domain matter to us.

Nice to Have

These are additional strengths, not prerequisites.

  • Trading systems: familiarity with exchange connectivity, market data feeds, order management systems, or market microstructure.
  • Advanced optimization: knowledge of lock-free programming, CPU affinity, NUMA, kernel bypass, or network stack optimization—and an understanding of when these techniques provide a measurable benefit.
  • Research tooling and machine learning: familiarity with Python, NumPy, or pandas; financial time-series analysis, model validation, or integrating research signals into production applications.
  • Hardware acceleration: knowledge of FPGA development or other hardware-accelerated systems.
What You Can Expect
  • Competitive compensation: competitive salary and performance-based bonus.
  • Comprehensive private health insurance: access to leading private hospitals.
  • Paid annual leave: 15 days of paid annual leave.
  • Time off in lieu: the option to take compensatory time off for overtime worked.
  • Visible impact: work on systems used in live trading and see how your decisions affect performance, execution, and reliability.
  • A view of the full trading stack: opportunities to contribute across market data, strategy logic, execution, and infrastructure.
  • Ownership and growth: take work from design through deployment, with room to influence architecture and technical direction.
  • An approachable team: direct communication, knowledge sharing, and room for questions and initiative.
  • Hybrid working: offices on both the Anatolian and European sides of Istanbul.
Working Hours

Our working hours are aligned with Borsa Istanbul’s trading schedule. You will need to be available throughout trading hours, including on remote working days, as issues affecting live systems require immediate investigation and response.

How We Hire
  1. Introduction and technical interview: a conversation about your background, interests, and expectations, followed by a discussion of your C++ and systems knowledge and problem-solving approach.
  2. Technical project: a focused task to demonstrate how you approach an engineering problem.
  3. Solution discussion: review your implementation and discuss your decisions and trade-offs with the engineers you would work with, with time for your questions about the role and team.
  4. Offer

We explain the project scope and expected time commitment in advance and aim to provide feedback at every stage.

Apply

Send us your CV. If you like, include a project, a repository, or a short description of a technical problem you enjoyed solving.

  • We are interested in your approach, the decisions you made, and what you learned.
