Do you want to help build a company with the capacity to disrupt whole industries and take on environmental issues on a global scale?

Matter. is a VC-backed Cleantech scale-up on a mission to transform industrial water filtration and protect the planet. As we continue to grow, we're hiring for a proactive, organised and creative Fixed Term Contract Marketing Assistant to join our Commercial team and help bring Matter’s story to life.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business where no two days are the same. You’ll support a broad range of marketing activities, from creating engaging content and coordinating events to showcasing customer success and strengthening Matter’s brand. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll play a key role in bringing our story to life and supporting our mission.

Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Duration: 6 month Fixed Term Contract (December '26 to May '27)
Hours: 40 hour working week
Location: Central Bristol
Salary: £28,810 per annum (prorated on annual basis)

About Matter

Matter. are innovators in water filtration, developing pioneering filtration technology to capture microplastics and cut carbon emissions. You'll be working for a business tackling some of the world's biggest environmental challenges by helping remove micropollutants from our waterways.

Through brilliant design thinking, powerful partnerships and an impatience to make what we do matter, our mission is to transform industries through technology that empowers customers and protects the planet.

We pride ourselves on our amazing technology and passion for wanting to change things, but fundamentally what we're most proud of is our people.

For us, people are everything. It's what makes a company, not the mission written on the wall or the building we work in. Our people represent our values, our culture and why we do what we do.

The Opportunity

Reporting to our Head of Marketing, you’ll play an important role in delivering engaging marketing communications and campaigns across a range of channels, both online and offline.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll help coordinate events, create content, support digital marketing activity and ensure our brand and messaging remain consistent. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, as well as external suppliers and partners, helping turn technical projects and customer successes into compelling marketing materials.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting the details right and wants to develop their marketing skills in a growing engineering business.

Working at Matter

You’ll join a collaborative Commercial team, with support from the Head of Marketing and opportunities to develop your skills through regular feedback and clear objectives.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of marketing activities, gaining exposure to our customers, projects and wider business as you help strengthen Matter’s brand and support our commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Events and exhibitions - Own and maintain our events calendar, coordinate planning and logistics, and help prepare materials for exhibitions, conferences and speaking opportunities
  • Content and communications - Write and schedule organic social media content, support website updates and news articles, and help maintain consistent messaging across our channels

  • Research and insight - Keep up to date with relevant industry news and trends, identifying opportunities for content and campaign development
  • Team support - Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Marketing team and work collaboratively with colleagues across Engineering, Commercial and Operations
