About Us
Corliss Management Group (CMG) is a fifth-generation family office and the operating platform for the Corliss family’s real estate and investment holdings, including Corliss Ventures and 1892 Capital Partners. Our portfolio covers land and mineral resources, the Sunrise master-planned community, self-storage, multifamily, commercial and industrial properties, The Kelley Farm wedding and event venue, and private lending. We operate in Washington and Utah and are growing across the Mountain West.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on communicator to be the voice of CMG and its portfolio, both externally and internally. You’ll own our brand and story across several distinct entities, from media relations and websites to employee communications, investor materials, events, and property marketing. You’ll report to our Chief Administrative Officer and work closely with our Managing Partners. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports at this time.
AI is a core operating advantage for our lean team. You’ll use it every day to research, draft, design, and analyze, and you’ll help colleagues adopt it in practical ways. You’ll work under an “AI as draft, human as publisher” standard: you fact-check everything, use only company-approved tools for confidential information, and own every word that’s published.
What You’ll Do
- Set the strategy. Define audiences, positioning, and priorities across our entities, and turn business goals into communications plans for messaging, leasing, investor relations, and business development.
- Lead media and reputation. Handle press inquiries, releases, and announcements across our markets, and manage online reputation for company and property channels.
- Steward multiple brands. Maintain brand standards across CMG, Corliss Ventures, 1892 Capital Partners, and our properties, including an investor-facing voice for our lending platform. Lead naming and brand development for new communities, properties, and ventures. Publish only verified company and family history, and escalate sensitive matters before anything goes out.
- Own internal communications. Run company announcements, recognition and new-hire programs, culture events, and employer-brand efforts, along with the quarterly State of the Company presentation and all-hands.
- Support executive and investor communications. Help with thought leadership, run our annual holiday card program and Networking & Appreciation Event, and evaluate awards, sponsorships, and community giving.
- Direct property and venue marketing. Set strategy, messaging, and brand standards for lease-ups, The Kelley Farm, and our multifamily properties, including for third-party managers. Asset-level materials are produced by property management, development, and outside partners rather than by you.
- Run our digital presence. Own our websites, SEO, and AI/answer-engine discoverability, and manage social and paid media tied to leasing, events, investor relations, and business development.
- Create and ship content. Produce and direct written, graphic, video, print, and presentation materials, and report results clearly to leadership.
- Champion AI and process improvement. Pilot and roll out AI tools and automation that make the team faster and better, and share practical playbooks with colleagues.
- Keep things running. Coordinate vendors and partners, and manage the marketing budget, subscriptions, and playbook.
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years in communications, PR, or marketing
- A portfolio of shipped work, such as press, websites, collateral, employee communications, or events
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- The ability to turn business goals into communications plans and see projects through across multiple brands
- Daily, hands-on fluency with AI tools and automation, along with CMS platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, social platforms, and digital analytics
- Sound judgment and discretion with confidential and sensitive information
- Strong organization, initiative, and comfort working with executives
Nice to have:
- Experience in commercial real estate, development, property management, private lending, financial services, or a family office
- Naming or multi-brand experience
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, business, or a related field (a strong portfolio may substitute)
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role. You’ll be on-site as needed at our Draper, UT and Pierce/King County, WA offices and properties, and at company, client, and investor events, some of which are in the evening. The role includes travel between Washington and Utah.
