Medical Director

Role Description The Medical Director role at BKK Championship is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing medical standards and safety protocols across all events and athlete programs. The Medical Director will develop and update medical policies, concussion protocols, and injury-management guidelines in alignment with international best practices for combat sports. This role involves reviewing medical clearances, coordinating with ringside physicians and medical teams, and providing guidance on pre- and post-fight evaluations. The Medical Director will consult on risk assessment for matchups, advise on emergency response procedures, and help design health and wellness initiatives for athletes. The position also includes collaboration with event operations, regulatory bodies, and local medical partners to ensure consistent, compliant, and athlete-centered care across all regions where BKK Championship operates.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine with experience in sports medicine or related clinical practice.
• Relevant Cardiology expertise to assess cardiovascular readiness and manage cardiac risks in high-intensity sports.
• Neurology knowledge to oversee concussion protocols, neurocognitive assessments, and management of head trauma.
• Oncology understanding beneficial for evaluating complex medical histories and long-term athlete health considerations.
• Demonstrated experience working with physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams in event or hospital settings.
• Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) and active, unrestricted license in at least one jurisdiction; board certification in sports medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or related specialty preferred.
• Experience with combat sports, athletic commissions, or high-performance athletes is highly desirable.
• Strong decision-making skills under pressure, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones.
• Comfort with remote work, digital documentation, and telemedicine consultation when required.
