The Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically capable Microsoft Fabric Specialist to join our growing consulting team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about designing, implementing, optimising, and supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft Fabric environments and modern analytics platforms.

As a Microsoft Fabric Specialist at One51, you will work across a range of client engagements focused on platform architecture, analytics engineering, data integration, governance, reporting enablement, and AI-ready data platform solutions. You will collaborate with architects, data engineers, analysts, AI engineers, consultants, and client stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performing Microsoft Fabric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect Microsoft Fabric environments aligned to client business and technical requirements.
• Implement and support Microsoft Fabric workloads, including Data Engineering, Data Factory, Real-Time Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Power BI, and OneLake capabilities.
• Configure, optimise, secure, and maintain Microsoft Fabric environments across development, test, and production environments.
• Design and develop scalable data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop and support CI/CD processes for Microsoft Fabric components, including pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, reports, shortcuts, and deployment artefacts.
• Implement DevOps, governance, monitoring, and automation practices across Microsoft Fabric environments.
• Perform platform performance tuning, workload optimisation, monitoring, and cost management activities.
• Collaborate with analytics and AI teams to support reporting, advanced analytics, and AI workloads.
• Support the implementation of data governance, security, access control, and compliance best practices.
• Participate in solution architecture, technical discovery workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, standards, and best practices within One51.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Platform Engineering, BI Engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Fabric solutions.
• Experience configuring, administering, performance tuning, and maintaining Microsoft Fabric environments.
• Strong experience developing and managing CI/CD processes for Microsoft Fabric development components.
• Experience with Fabric workloads, including Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Real-Time Intelligence, and Power BI.
• Strong SQL development and data transformation skills.
• Experience with Python, Spark, PySpark, or notebook-based development.
• Strong understanding of modern lakehouse, warehouse, and analytics architecture principles.
• Experience implementing governance, security, and operational best practices in Microsoft data platforms.
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, Git integration, and deployment automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within consulting or project-based delivery environments.

Desirable

• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Experience integrating Microsoft Fabric with Databricks, Snowflake, or external enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, or Generative AI workloads.
• Experience with real-time analytics and event streaming solutions.
• Understanding of FinOps, cost optimisation, and platform governance practices.
• Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies.
• Microsoft certifications related to Fabric, Azure, Power BI, or data engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications are highly regarded.
