The Role
As a Network Operations / Monitoring Engineer, you will be the first line of defence in keeping networks in the technology sector running smoothly. You will watch over network devices, links and services, respond quickly when alerts appear, and make sure every incident is tracked, escalated and resolved properly. This is a great opportunity if you have a solid networking foundation and want to sharpen your skills with modern monitoring and AIOps tools in a hybrid working environment.
What You'll Do
• Monitor network devices, links, services and alerts through network-monitoring dashboards
• Perform first-level troubleshooting for connectivity and performance issues across routers, switches, firewalls, LAN and WAN
• Create, update and follow up incident tickets until resolution
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 Network Engineers or relevant vendors
• Track bandwidth utilization, device availability, latency and network-health indicators
• Maintain daily network-health and incident reports, and support weekly/monthly availability and performance reporting
• Use approved AI/AIOps tools, where available, to assist with alert summarization, anomaly identification and preliminary troubleshooting
What We're Looking For
• 1–3 years of experience in Network Operations, NOC, Network Support or a related role
• 5+ years of experience in Senior Network Engineer and Network Operations Engineer
• Good understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN and basic network troubleshooting
• Basic hands-on experience with routers, switches and firewalls, plus basic knowledge of Cisco networking
• Exposure to monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, SolarWinds, Alerta or equivalent
• Experience creating and updating incident tickets and following established escalation procedures
• Basic knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, Wireshark, PuTTY or SecureCRT, with good documentation and communication skills
• Bonus: exposure to AIOps tools such as Cisco AI Network Analytics, HPE Mist/Marvis or Splunk AI Assistant
What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• Hybrid working arrangement
• Training and upskilling opportunities to grow your networking expertise
• Mentorship from experienced engineers
• Clear career progression pathways
• A supportive, collaborative team
