Occupational Health & Safety Specialist

Role Description The Occupational Health & Safety Specialist will support the organization in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant remote work environment for its contributors and team members. This part-time, remote role involves assessing health and safety risks, developing and updating occupational health and safety guidelines, and advising on best practices for ergonomic and psychologically safe work setups. The specialist will help design and deliver safety training materials tailored to a distributed, knowledge-based workforce, and contribute to incident reporting and follow-up procedures. The role also includes collaborating with leadership to integrate safety considerations into policies, workflows, and virtual events, while monitoring applicable regulations and recommending improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with experience applying them in office or remote work environments.
• Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Workplace Safety, including risk assessment and hazard mitigation.
• Ability to design and deliver effective Safety Training programs and materials for diverse teams.
• Relevant certification (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) and familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.
• Experience supporting technology or education-focused organizations is a plus.
