Role Description The Online Tutor will provide live, remote instruction and academic support to learners through New To Education’s platform in a full-time capacity. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging online lessons, offering one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions, and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and goals. The Online Tutor will develop and share educational materials, provide timely feedback on assignments or practice activities, and use digital tools to track learner progress. The role also involves maintaining clear communication with learners, participating in community discussions when appropriate, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive online learning environment.
Qualifications

• Strong subject-matter expertise in one or more academic areas or professional skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners with different backgrounds.
• Demonstrated online teaching or tutoring experience, including lesson planning, use of virtual classroom tools, and facilitation of interactive learning activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening, asking clarifying questions, and providing constructive, strengths-based feedback.
• Digital literacy and comfort with remote work tools (video conferencing, learning management systems, shared documents, and messaging platforms).
• Commitment to student-centered, inclusive teaching practices and the ability to work effectively with learners of different ages, cultures, and abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple sessions, prepare materials, and maintain accurate records of learner progress.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, a related academic field, or equivalent experience in teaching, tutoring, or training.
• Preferred: Experience creating educational content (worksheets, presentations, practice problems, or guides) and familiarity with competency-based or skills-focused learning.
