Photo Editors, Visual Editors & Professional Retouchers. Remote AI Project

We are seeking experienced Photo Editors, Picture Editors, Visual Editors, Retouchers, and Photo Producers to contribute to a remote AI project focused on image quality, image selection, visual accuracy, and professional editing standards.

You will review sets of images, select the strongest options for specific purposes, identify technical or editorial problems, perform image corrections when required, and clearly explain the reasoning behind your decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Review image sets and select the strongest image for a defined audience, publication, campaign, or purpose.
• Evaluate exposure, focus, sharpness, color, white balance, noise, cropping, and overall technical quality.
• Identify images that have been edited or manipulated in ways that materially change what the image represents.
• Check whether captions, descriptions, and metadata accurately reflect what is visible in the image.
• Correct or retouch photographs according to a provided creative or editorial brief.
• Compare multiple image options and explain which one communicates most effectively.
• Identify distracting elements, poor crops, inconsistent color, excessive retouching, or other quality issues.
• Review images for consistency with brand, editorial, or publication standards.
• Write concise explanations describing the reasoning behind each image selection or rejection.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Photo Editor, Picture Editor, Visual Editor, Retoucher, Photo Producer, or closely related imaging professional.
• Experience selecting and editing images for clients, publishers, brands, or other real audiences.
• Strong knowledge of exposure, focus, color, noise, cropping, composition, and image quality.
• Daily or frequent use of professional tools such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Capture One, or similar software.
• Experience correcting and retouching professional images.
• Ability to recognize misleading or excessive image manipulation.
• Ability to verify whether captions and descriptions accurately reflect image content.
• Strong visual judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to clearly explain image selection and editing decisions in writing.
• Clear written English.

Preferred Background

• Professional experience in editorial photography, commercial photography, publishing, advertising, e-commerce, or brand content.
• Experience selecting images for print, web, social media, broadcast, or marketing campaigns.
• Advanced experience with Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, or comparable professional tools.
• Experience with professional retouching and color correction workflows.
• Experience reviewing image authenticity or detecting misleading edits.
• Experience managing image libraries, metadata, captions, or digital asset systems.
• Experience performing visual quality assurance before publication or client delivery.
• Experience collaborating with photographers, art directors, designers, editors, or creative teams.
