Product Specialist (AV-over-IP Product Line)

Position Summary

At Lightware, the Product Specialist is responsible for ensuring that new products are successfully introduced to the market through effective messaging, content creation, and training. This role combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, serving as the bridge between a product’s technical capabilities and the customer benefits it delivers.

The Product Specialist develops comprehensive expertise in one or more product lines, gaining an in-depth understanding of product functionality, features, and applications. They are responsible for transferring this knowledge to colleagues, partners, and customers in a clear, practical, and engaging manner.

A key part of the role is supporting sales activities by preparing product launch materials, presentations, and technical consultations. The Product Specialist helps position products effectively by translating complex technical concepts into tangible business benefits.

The role also includes creating customer-facing educational materials such as presentations, training videos, hands-on training sessions, documentation, and user guides. The Product Specialist works closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Product Management teams to ensure that technical product capabilities are transformed into real business value for customers.

In addition, the Product Specialist maintains close collaboration with the engineering team, collecting, organizing, and communicating user feedback to support continuous product improvement and development.

• Are interested in collaborating with our in-house product development team to create new theoretical and practical training materials.
• Enjoy traveling, as approximately 5–10% of your working time will involve delivering on-site training at customer locations or one of our offices/training centers.

Essential Requirements

• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, supported by several years of training or teaching experience.
• A technical degree (higher education) or technical vocational qualification.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Patience, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor when working with customers and managing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computer networks and/or video technology equipment.
• Experience with multicast traffic, switch configuration (GUI or CLI), and VLANs.
• Previous experience in a Junior IT role.
