Program Manager wanted for a late-stage ERP transformation at a mid-size industrial business — 12-month contract with direct Board reporting.

  • Highly competitive salary for the right person
  • Immediate start, 12-month contract
  • Program Management

This isn’t a technical build role. It’s governance — stepping into the final stretch of a major ERP transformation to give the Board confidence that risk is being managed, not just talked about.

This is a 12-month Program Manager contract overseeing the final stages of a major ERP transformation at a mid-size industrial business — largely work-from-home with time in the South-West Sydney office as well, on a highly competitive package for the engagement.

The business is around eight months from go-live, replacing a legacy project-based system with a purpose-built platform widely used across the sector. Experienced in-house technical support are already driving the detail — training, data conversion, UAT. What’s missing is someone above that layer: a program manager who can take governance control, translate the detail into plain, decision-ready updates, and close the gap that’s opened up between the delivery team and the Board. The role works directly with the CEO, CFO and Board.

What the role looks like

  • Take ownership of program governance across the final stages of the implementation — managing risk, derisking what’s left, and giving the Board genuine confidence in progress.
  • Oversee training, data conversion and testing workstreams — tracking status, surfacing gaps early, and making sure nothing’s been missed across the business.
  • Report directly to the CEO, CFO and Board — turning technical detail into clear, decision-ready updates they can act on.
  • Lead the governance of change management — assessing how ready the business really is for the change and communicating that honestly upward and downward.
  • Coordinate a capable, engaged senior delivery team that’s already bought in — the role exists to close the governance gap between that layer and the Board, not to fix a broken team.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience running governance or program management on a large-scale ERP or systems transformation
  • A track record of reporting confidently to C-suite and Board level, translating technical complexity into plain language
  • Strong stakeholder management — the ability to push back and hold people to account without burning relationships.
  • A solutions mindset — you bring the Board options and recommendations, not just a list of problems.
  • Exposure to industrial project-based businesses and/or leases is useful, but not essential.
  • Hands-on and flexible early on, with the comfort to settle into a more remote rhythm once you’re across the detail.

What makes this worth your time

  • A high-visibility mandate with a direct line to the CEO, CFO and Board at a pivotal point in a major transformation.
  • Genuine autonomy to set the governance rhythm — you’re closing a gap in an otherwise well-run program, not inheriting a mess.
  • A highly competitive package for a focused, time-boxed engagement.
  • Mostly remote work, with periodic travel to the head office and occasional site visits
  • Immediate start — the role is signed off and ready to go.

This process will move fast — the role’s signed off at Board level and they want someone in seat as soon as possible. Apply now or reach out to Dave Goldbach for a confidential conversation.
