Job Description:


Note: This is for 1 Temporary Full-Time vacancy to go until May 31, 2028. This position is deemed a critical replacement vacancy.

Work Mode: In-Person, 5 days per week

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why this Role is Important


Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Program Manager, School of Community Studies is accountable for identifying, developing, marketing, staffing, supporting and evaluating a number of courses, program and services offered by the School of Community Studies . The Manager is responsible for the effective operation and delivery of courses/programs within the School of Community Studies by working closely with the Associate Dean, program coordinators, professors and support staff within the School as well as other college employees and external stakeholders and partners.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Planning and Organizing:

Responsible for the planning and delivery of programs, including:

  • Identify, develop and evaluate courses/programs within the school
  • Support the process of curriculum design and delivery
  • Recruit and support non-full-time faculty
  • Conduct current needs analysis and review educational trends
  • Assess and make recommendations to support the delivery of the programs, including facilities, equipment and services
  • Develop and maintains online course offerings
  • Manage the operation of the School’s programs including the identification of the types of courses and the most effective methods of delivering those courses to meet the needs of the College community
  • Collaborating with Academic Planning, Associate Deans, Program Coordinators, and other college-wide stakeholders to support program delivery
  • Support program teams to meet college strategic goals and commitments

General Administration:

  • Ensure that the departmental budget is used effectively by optimal use of human, fiscal and physical resources, plans and controls budgetary operations
  • Manage day-to-day activity of staff and faculty; determines work priorities and assignments
  • Maintains a high level of performance through recruiting, selecting, training, developing and evaluating staff
  • Participate in the establishment of enrollment targets and continually monitors budget data
  • Work with Dean/Associate Dean in developing program costings for new initiatives both long and short term

Marketing Partnerships:

Accountable for arranging a variety of marketing and partnership efforts, including:

  • Identify and implement strategies to promote individual programs and courses
  • Identify new target markets for special programming
  • Assist in identifying new trends in the marketplace related to the development of new technologies
  • Manage pathways with other educational institutions and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and supports partnership opportunities and relationships as well as School related promotion to external stakeholders

What You'll Bring


  • Post-secondary 3-year degree/diploma in a related field
  • Master’s Degree in a related field and/or B.Ed. or M.Ed. is an asset
  • Minimum 7 years in an academic setting and/or business experience in marketing, sales, or corporate communications
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Supervisory experience would be an asset
  • Related experience within an academic setting including post-secondary teaching and curriculum development and design would be an asset
  • Demonstrated marketing ability with excellent problem-solving, negotiation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated administrative background including budget responsibilities and supervisory responsibilities
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and organization skills, and computer skills
  • Project/operational management, leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to foster a team-based approach to operational planning and problem-solving
