The opportunity
Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT). The CSI-IPT forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA5000 Phase 1).
The role
As part of the Engineering and Sustainment Services team, the Project Controller monitors project cost and schedule across assigned Control Accounts. The role supports Performance Measurement Baselines (PMBs), coordinates monthly reporting and analysis, and ensures compliance with the project's earned value management framework.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Maintain tasking statement WBS, dictionaries, control accounts, and RAMs.
Support PMB development, maintenance, and approved baseline changes.
Assist CAMs with control account planning and work package development.
Develop and resource-load schedules in line with project standards and processes.
Collaborate with PMs and CAMs to capture actuals, status updates, and ETCs.
Support CEAC activities, including data collection and program-wide consolidation.
Deliver monthly EVM reporting, analysis, and performance insights.
Assist with IBRs, EVMS surveillance reviews, and compliance activities.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
A degree in project management, business, commercial or engineering and/or a post graduate qualification in project management (desirable)
Working within a project-orientated organisation (desirable)
Using project management software such as Open Plan Professional (OPP) and Cobra.
Three plus years working in project controls
Strong understanding of project management, planning, scheduling, and project controls principles.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
