Remote | Investment Banking Expert — $175–$300/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced investment banking professionals with deep expertise in financial modelling, transaction analysis, valuation, company and industry research, and client-facing materials to contribute to an advanced AI training and financial analysis project.

Selected professionals will apply real-world investment banking expertise to analytical workflows involving company research, transaction modelling, comparable company analysis, valuation, target screening, and pitchbook-style materials. The work focuses on ensuring that AI systems learn from rigorous financial reasoning, accurate modelling, and professional-quality transaction analysis. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling & Transaction Analysis

• Build, update, review, and troubleshoot detailed Excel-based financial and transaction models
• Apply appropriate valuation methodologies across acquisition, sale, and strategic transaction scenarios
• Analyse the impact of key assumptions, sensitivities, and accounting treatments on model outputs
• Review financial models for methodological accuracy, logical consistency, and numerical integrity
• Identify and correct errors that may affect transaction analysis or valuation conclusions

Company Research & Market Analysis

• Conduct detailed company and industry research to support transaction and strategic analysis
• Perform buyer screening, target screening, comparable company analysis, and related research workflows
• Evaluate industry dynamics, company positioning, transaction context, and relevant market information
• Connect research findings to valuation, transaction rationale, and strategic conclusions
• Apply professional judgement when interpreting incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting financial information

Valuation & Analytical Review

• Perform and review comparable company analysis and other relevant valuation methodologies
• Evaluate valuation adjustments, transaction sensitivities, and accounting considerations
• Trace how assumptions and model inputs influence financial and strategic outcomes
• Analyse sample transaction materials for numerical inaccuracies, weak logic, or unsupported conclusions
• Provide clear, actionable feedback designed to improve analytical quality and consistency

Pitchbooks & Client Deliverables

• Prepare and edit materials comparable to investment banking presentations, pitchbooks, and client deliverables
• Structure transaction narratives and strategic rationale clearly and professionally
• Review presentation materials against senior-banker and client-quality standards
• Ensure analytical conclusions are communicated accurately and supported by appropriate evidence
• Explain complex financial and transaction concepts clearly to both specialist and broader professional audiences

Ideal Profile

• Experience as a former Senior Associate, preferably third-year, Vice President, or comparable investment banking professional
• Background within an M&A team, industry-coverage group, established M&A boutique, or sector-focused advisory firm
• Substantial hands-on exposure to live acquisition, sale, or other transaction processes
• Strong track record producing high-quality analytical work and client-facing deliverables
• Advanced Excel modelling skills, including troubleshooting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis
• Direct experience with company and industry research, target screening, comparable company analysis, and pitchbook preparation
• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, accounting treatments, transaction adjustments, and deal sensitivities
• Proven ability to produce and review materials to senior-banker or client standards
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical judgement, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
• Ability to identify and clearly explain quantitative inaccuracies, strategic weaknesses, and unsupported assumptions
• No prior experience in AI research or model training is required

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $175–$300/hour
• Work will involve financial modelling, transaction analysis, company and industry research, valuation assessment, comparable company analysis, and pitchbook-style deliverables
• Deep professional experience in investment banking and transaction execution is important for this engagement

• Project scope, workload, timing, and duration may evolve depending on project requirements
