## About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented **Junior Security Configuration & Hardening Analyst** to support the protection of IT systems, servers, endpoints, and cloud environments.

In this role, you will help identify insecure configurations, support security hardening initiatives, review system settings, and assist with implementing security baselines in line with industry best practices. This is an opportunity for an aspiring cybersecurity professional to build practical experience in infrastructure security and risk reduction.

## Key Responsibilities

* Review system and application configurations to identify potential security weaknesses.
* Assist with applying security hardening standards across servers, endpoints, and network devices.
* Support the implementation of security baselines based on CIS Benchmarks and organizational policies.
* Help identify unnecessary services, insecure protocols, excessive permissions, and default configurations.
* Document configuration issues and track remediation activities.
* Collaborate with IT infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to improve system security.
* Assist with configuration compliance assessments and periodic security reviews.
* Maintain accurate security documentation, checklists, and assessment reports.
* Monitor remediation progress and escalate unresolved security concerns.
* Stay informed about emerging security configuration risks and recommended mitigation practices.

## Requirements

* Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical knowledge may be considered.
* Basic understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
* Familiarity with fundamental cybersecurity principles and system administration.
* Understanding of access controls, patching, secure configurations, and least-privilege principles.
* Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.

## Preferred Skills

* Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks or other recognized security hardening standards.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft security tools, Linux security settings, or cloud configuration controls.
* Exposure to vulnerability scanners or configuration assessment tools.
* Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
* Awareness of frameworks such as ISO 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft security certifications, or an entry-level cybersecurity credential are an advantage.
