About Octopus Deploy:

At Octopus, we have one single aspiration: to be the standard for software delivery. We do this by shipping a product practicioners love and use because it makes their lives better. Our business model is entirely centered around actively driving adoption- we do 'sales' differently. Here, you get to be the hero, not the villain and you work as a team to deliver results that help our customers succeed. Our success happens when we do that well.

We care that our Customers use Octopus because our product adds value to their business. Our employees join Octopus (and stay) because it's a rewarding place to work. We care that Octopus is. a great investment for our shareholders.

We’ve been remote-first since 2015 and work with an uncommon level of transparency. You can read our public handbook to learn how we work. We have a transparent approach to compensation that ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same, with well-defined career pathways. We foster a supportive, collaborative, and high-trust environment. We leave our job titles at the door and focus on doing what’s best for our customers and team. Our leaders never shy away from answering the tough questions at our all-hands calls or in 1:1s. We conduct interviews and onboarding virtually as part of being a remote-first company.

Role summary

Are you the person who makes a CRM actually work for the people using it? Do you get as much satisfaction from a clean integration as from a sales team that never has to think about their tools? We'd love to hear from you.

Our IT Operations team owns HubSpot and the wider revenue stack, and we're in the middle of moving from Salesforce to HubSpot. We're looking for someone who pairs an IT operations background with hands-on revenue systems experience to own that platform and help shape where it goes next.

You'll join our small, remote IT Operations team as an individual contributor. The role sits between IT and our sales and marketing teams. You'll keep the tools our salespeople use every day simple to work with, while making sure data moves cleanly between systems and supports how we run the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning and maintaining our revenue systems, with HubSpot at the centre, and growing the platform in the direction you think is right.

  • Helping lead the Salesforce to HubSpot migration: understanding every system it touches, planning the move with the team, and getting it over the line.

  • Building and maintaining integrations between HubSpot, Zuora, and the other systems IT Operations owns.

  • Acting as the operational bridge between our revenue and billing systems, so data stays accurate and the experience stays simple for the people using it.

  • Improving data hygiene and data flow across the revenue stack, and building the automations and workflows that keep it that way.

  • Responding to requests from our sales and marketing teams in Slack, and working with sales leaders to make sure their tools support what they're trying to achieve.

  • Picking up some general IT support (the amount can vary), such as managing access and permissions in EntraID and helping our People and Finance teams onboard and offboard Octonauts.

In your first few months, you'll dive into our systems, starting with our HubSpot implementation. You'll get to know everything the Salesforce migration affects so you can help deliver it.

We're looking for someone like you who

  • Has 5+ years of experience in IT operations, revenue operations, or business systems roles.

  • Has hands-on experience administering HubSpot. This is essential for the role.

  • Has worked with CRMs and understands how they support a sales motion.

  • Is familiar with SaaS fundamentals, including identity providers, permissions, and platforms like Azure.

  • Has worked in a SaaS company, or in an organisation large enough to have sales and marketing teams you've coordinated with.

  • Enjoys working with people rather than being buried in the server room, and is comfortable coordinating across teams.

  • Works independently, prioritises their own workload, and solves problems without needing supervision.

  • Can explain technical problems in plain language to colleagues who aren't technical, mostly over Slack and video calls.

Nice to have

  • Salesforce experience, especially if you've migrated a team off it before.

  • Experience working with data beyond keeping a CRM tidy.

  • Experience with Zuora.

Where you'll be based

This is a remote role. To help our teams work together effectively, you'll need to be located in the US Pacific time zone, the East Coast of Australia, or in New Zealand, with unrestricted rights to work there. We're not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.
