Sales Executive / Business Development Executive

Role Description The Owner will provide strategic vision, leadership, and governance for Work Fair and Free in alignment with its mission and long-term goals. This part-time remote role involves overseeing organizational strategy, ensuring quality and impact of research, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives, and guiding the development of programs and partnerships. The Owner will collaborate with core team members and external stakeholders, including community organizations, policymakers, funders, and academic partners, to strengthen the institution’s role in the labor ecosystem. Day-to-day responsibilities may include reviewing and approving key projects, mentoring senior staff, supporting fundraising and resource mobilization, and representing the organization in public forums and networks. The role requires a balance of high-level strategic thinking and hands-on engagement with operations, while maintaining an inclusive, ethical, and community-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in organizational leadership, governance, and strategic planning within social impact, academic, or nonprofit contexts.
• Demonstrated expertise in labor rights, migration, social justice, public policy, or related fields, preferably with exposure to the Indian labor ecosystem.
• Strong skills in research, analysis, and critical thinking, with the ability to connect knowledge production to policy and practice.
• Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and communication with diverse groups such as community members, policymakers, and funders.
• Experience in program design, monitoring, and evaluation, including overseeing teaching, training, and capacity-building initiatives.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity, managing time and priorities effectively while collaborating with a distributed team.
• Background in social sciences, law, public policy, development studies, or a related discipline is highly beneficial; advanced degrees are an advantage but not mandatory.
