SAP Basis Lead | Enterprise S/4HANA & EWM Transformation

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to join a high-profile, enterprise-scale business transformation program. This is a critical 12-month contract driving the technical strategy, governance, and hands-on execution for a major SAP ecosystem upgrade, including S/4HANA and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).

Working alongside a tier-one implementation partner and SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS), you will act as the senior technical authority ensuring the stability, performance, security, and seamless transition of a complex hybrid environment moving towards SAP RISE.

Responsibilities

As the principal SAP Basis technical authority for the program, your focus will be on platform design, technical governance, environment provisioning, and multi-party vendor orchestration rather than team line-management.

• Landscape & Strategy Ownership: Govern environment strategies, transport release cycles, system refreshes, and readiness across build, test, cutover, and go-live phases.
• Vendor & Partner Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between SAP ECS, system integrators, project delivery teams, and internal operational units.
• Architecture & Technical Delivery: Oversee landscape upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery testing, and complex performance troubleshooting across the full SAP stack.
• Platform Security & Resilience: Ensure compliance, high availability, and operational supportability meet rigorous enterprise standards.
• BAU Transition: Maintain architectural artifacts, operational documentation, and facilitate smooth knowledge transfer to permanent operational teams.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• 10+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in complex, large-scale enterprise environments.
• Transformation Expertise: Hands-on experience delivering large enterprise ERP and SAP EWM transformations, upgrades, or migrations.
• SAP Cloud Service Models: Demonstrated experience operating within SAP RISE and SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) environments (including managing customer vs. partner vs. SAP-managed responsibilities).
• Broad Technology Stack Familiarity: Deep technical domain knowledge spanning:
• SAP S/4HANA & SAP HANA Database
• SAP EWM & SAP Fiori
• SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Integration Suite (CPI), and Cloud Identity Services
• SAP SaaS suite integrations (SAC, Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors)
• SAP Solution Manager / SAP Cloud ALM
• Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to coordinate complex outcomes across external vendors, partners, and internal IT teams.
