About the Role

AIM is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of full-cycle accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, tax-related accounting support, and intercompany reconciliations across AIM and its related entities.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently manage day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to AIM's transition from QuickBooks Online to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, with the Dynamics 365 Finance go-live planned for January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage full-cycle accounting for AIM and its related entities.
• Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliations, adjusting entries, account reviews, and financial reporting.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Prepare HST returns and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
• Prepare year-end working papers and supporting schedules for T2 corporate tax filings in coordination with external accountants.
• Record, reconcile, and settle intercompany transactions across related entities.
• Manage accounting activities within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, period close, and financial reporting.
• Support the Dynamics 365 Finance implementation and go-live, including validation of opening balances and outstanding transactions migrated from QuickBooks Online.
• Review migrated accounting data to help ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain clear accounting procedures and documentation following the D365 implementation.
• Support CAD/USD multi-currency accounting and reconciliations, where applicable.
• Support PD7A payroll remittance reconciliations, where required.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation for reporting, tax, and audit purposes.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA, either qualified or finalist.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Practical experience with Canadian bookkeeping and taxation, particularly HST and T2 filing support.
• Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, including:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Period Close
  • Financial Reporting
• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can take ownership of the accounting cycle with limited supervision. You should be comfortable working in a growing organisation, resolving reconciliation issues independently, maintaining accurate financial records, and helping establish strong accounting processes as AIM transitions to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.

Important: Because Dynamics 365 Finance will be a core part of this role, candidates should have practical, hands-on D365 Finance & Operations experience and be able to work effectively in the system with minimal training.
