Senior Android / Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer


Remote | Full-Time

About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Senior Android / Kotlin Multiplatform Engineer to take ownership of a modern Android application while contributing to a shared Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) ecosystem used across both Android and iOS.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work across the mobile stack, building native Android experiences with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, while also designing and maintaining shared KMP modules covering networking, API clients and core business logic.

You will collaborate closely with backend and platform teams on API contracts, authentication, integrations and architecture, while contributing to the evolution of our internal PowerCore SDK.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and maintain the Android application and shared Kotlin Multiplatform business logic layer

  • Design and implement shared KMP modules, including network services, API clients and business logic

  • Build modern Android experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and MVVM architecture

  • Use Hilt for dependency injection and maintain scalable, testable application architecture

  • Collaborate with backend teams to define and evolve API contracts and OpenAPI specifications

  • Integrate mobile applications with backend microservices through REST APIs and Azure API Management

  • Implement secure authentication flows using MSAL and Azure Entra External ID, based on OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect

  • Manage Firebase services including Analytics, Crashlytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging

  • Develop and maintain WebView-based journeys, including payments and identity verification with secure authentication-token injection

  • Write and maintain unit, integration and UI tests

  • Maintain secure token storage and follow Android security best practices

  • Support GDPR requirements through consent-management integrations such as OneTrust

  • Contribute to Android CI/CD pipelines and release processes in Azure DevOps

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvements to mobile architecture and engineering quality

  • Ensure development activities are carried out in line with applicable regulatory, security and compliance requirements




What We’re Looking For

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • Strong professional experience with Kotlin and native Android development

  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, including shared modules, expect/actual, Coroutines and Flow

  • Strong experience building Android applications using Jetpack Compose and MVVM

  • Hands-on experience with Hilt dependency injection

  • Experience with Ktor HTTP Client and kotlinx.serialization

  • Experience with authentication technologies such as MSAL, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect

  • Experience integrating Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and FCM

  • Good understanding of Android security practices, including secure token storage using Android Keystore

  • Experience with Gradle Kotlin DSL and dependency management using version catalogs

  • Strong knowledge of Android Studio, debugging and performance-profiling tools

  • Experience with automated testing using tools such as MockK, Espresso and Compose UI Testing

  • Experience generating or working with API clients based on OpenAPI specifications

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

  • Strong ownership, communication and collaboration skills


Nice to Have

  • Experience with consent-management platforms such as OneTrust

  • Familiarity with GraphQL

  • Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Sitecore XM Cloud

  • Experience implementing complex integrations through Android WebView

  • Knowledge of Android CI/CD and release processes using Azure DevOps

  • Experience contributing to shared SDKs or cross-platform mobile architectures

  • Previous experience in fintech, payments or financial-services environments
