About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Computer Vision Calibration Specialist to develop, validate, and optimize calibration methodologies for computer vision systems, imaging devices, and camera-based applications. The successful candidate will focus on camera geometry, lens distortion correction, image alignment, intrinsic and extrinsic parameter estimation, and multi-camera calibration. This fully remote role involves algorithm development, calibration data analysis, simulation, performance validation, and technical coordination with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain calibration algorithms for cameras, imaging systems, and computer vision applications.
- Estimate camera intrinsic parameters, including focal length, principal point, and lens distortion coefficients.
- Perform mathematical modeling and validation of camera extrinsic parameters and coordinate transformations.
- Develop calibration workflows for single-camera, stereo-camera, and multi-camera configurations.
- Apply geometric calibration techniques using checkerboard patterns, calibration targets, and feature-based methods.
- Implement lens distortion correction, image rectification, and geometric image transformation procedures.
- Analyze calibration accuracy using reprojection error and other relevant performance metrics.
- Develop algorithms for stereo calibration, depth estimation, and camera alignment.
- Evaluate calibration stability under variations in image resolution, lens characteristics, and environmental conditions.
- Investigate calibration errors, parameter inconsistencies, and deviations in image geometry.
- Develop automated calibration validation scripts and quality assurance frameworks.
- Apply computer vision and optimization techniques to improve calibration accuracy and computational efficiency.
- Conduct simulation-based calibration testing and analyze recorded image datasets.
- Collaborate with computer vision engineers, robotics specialists, machine learning teams, and software developers.
- Establish calibration standards, technical specifications, and repeatable validation procedures.
- Maintain documentation covering calibration models, parameter configurations, test results, and technical limitations.
- Monitor algorithm performance and recommend improvements to calibration workflows.
- Provide remote technical guidance and analytical support to authorized personnel conducting any required physical camera measurements or equipment adjustments.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Significant professional experience in camera calibration, computer vision, image processing, or imaging systems engineering.
- Strong understanding of camera geometry, projective transformations, coordinate systems, and geometric optics.
- Practical experience with intrinsic and extrinsic camera calibration.
- Proficiency in Python or C++ and relevant computer vision libraries.
- Experience using OpenCV or equivalent computer vision frameworks.
- Knowledge of lens distortion models, stereo vision, image rectification, and multi-camera calibration.
- Understanding of optimization techniques, numerical methods, and reprojection error analysis.
- Familiarity with calibration patterns, feature detection, image registration, and geometric validation.
- Experience analyzing image and video datasets for calibration accuracy assessment.
- Knowledge of robotics, autonomous systems, or machine vision applications is advantageous.
- Familiarity with simulation environments and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong analytical reasoning, mathematical problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with international engineering teams in a fully remote environment.
- 100% remote working arrangement within the stated employment framework.
- Competitive compensation based on qualifications and professional experience.
- Opportunities to contribute to advanced computer vision and imaging technology projects.
- Professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
- Collaborative environment with international and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Interested candidates should submit an updated CV highlighting their experience in camera calibration, computer vision algorithms, image processing, and geometric modeling.
