Embark on a journey where your work not only supports the integrity of research but also contributes to the broader mission of fostering a responsible research culture at RMIT.

About You

As the Senior Coordinator, Research Integrity and Governance, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and strengthening research integrity across RMIT. You will lead and support the fair, objective and timely management of research integrity concerns and investigations, drive the continuous improvement of research integrity policies, procedures and frameworks, contribute to the University's research integrity education and training initiatives, and support a range of strategic projects and programs that promote responsible research conduct.

Drawing on your expertise, you will provide trusted advice and guidance to researchers, academic and professional staff, and University leaders on research integrity and governance matters. You will also provide governance and secretariat support to key committees, networks and investigation panels, ensuring effective decision-making and alignment with institutional and regulatory requirements.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the quality, credibility and trustworthiness of research conducted at RMIT. Working closely with senior leaders, world-leading researchers and internal and external stakeholders, you will help shape and enhance the systems, practices and culture that underpin research excellence.

RMIT is internationally recognised for its commitment to research integrity and responsible research practices. Our leadership in this area is reflected in our active contribution to the World Conferences on Research Integrity Foundation, helping to advance global dialogue and best practice in research integrity. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to that legacy, supporting a research environment that fosters innovation, accountability and the highest standards of integrity.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • A deep understanding of research integrity and governance-related legislation, regulations and guidelines, preferably within a tertiary research environment, and the ability to interpret these for varied stakeholders.
  • Skills and experience in complaints management, including the conduct of rigorous and procedurally fair assessments and investigations, and the production of high-quality reports.
  • High level of commitment to service excellence, including preparedness to proactively engage with stakeholders and persist with complex issues to achieve timely resolution.
  • You're adept at communicating across levels, influencing outcomes with your strong interpersonal skills, and negotiating with tact and professionalism.
  • A proven track record of maintaining strict confidentiality and exercising sound judgement.
  • Proven expertise in efficiently organising, prioritising and completing multiple tasks set by different stakeholders, all while upholding high-quality standards and adhering to deadlines.
  • Qualifications: Relevant post graduate qualification and substantial relevant work experience in supporting responsible conduct of research in the higher education sector.

Please see the Position Description for further selection criteria.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
