Role Description The Senior Database Administrator will manage, monitor, and optimize the Centre’s databases that support exam scheduling, registration, and reporting. This part-time remote role involves overseeing database performance, ensuring data integrity and security, and implementing backup and recovery procedures. The Senior Database Administrator will design and refine database structures, collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements, and develop queries and reports for operational and analytical needs. The role also includes troubleshooting database issues, applying updates and patches, and contributing to data governance and documentation to support smooth testing operations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and working with Databases in production environments.
• Candidates should possess skills in Database Design and Data Modeling for reliable, scalable systems.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills for querying data, diagnosing issues, and improving performance.
• Experience with SQL-based relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle) is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, security, and access control best practices is required.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, data-driven services in education, testing, or similar regulated environments is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation habits, and ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting are essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
