Senior Digital Design Engineer

Senior Digital Design Engineer – AI Silicon

🚀 We’re building the chips that will power the next generation of AI.

Cognicatus develops high-performance IPs and chips for AI on cutting-edge process nodes. We are a small, fast-moving team where every engineer has a direct hand in what ends up on silicon.

We are looking for a Senior Digital Design Engineer to implement the digital blocks at the heart of our chips.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of high performance digital blocks on advanced process nodes
• Translate architecture and requirements into efficient, robust, and power aware designs
• Optimize designs for performance, power, and area
• Work closely with the systems architect on interfaces, requirements, and trade-offs
• Collaborate across teams with verification, analog and mixed-signal engineers
• Contribute to design methodology and ways of working as the team grows

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience in digital ASIC design
• Strong understanding of digital design concepts
• Experience in design and verification of digital blocks
• Strong written and spoken English
• Good communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience with high-performance digital systems (CPU/GPU, Serdes) and/or memory controllers (DRAM/HBM)
• Experience in advanced process nodes (FinFET, GAA)
• Experience in startup/scale-up environments

Why Cognicatus?

You will work on silicon where performance, power, and area are pushed to the limit – and where the architecture you define becomes the product. Teamwork is of high importance at Cognicatus: we share knowledge openly and good ideas win regardless of who they come from.

We are based in Linköping, Sweden, but this role can also be done remotely – what matters is the work, not where you sit.

If you want to shape the next generation of AI compute silicon from the ground up, we would love to hear from you.
