About Us

We are a construction-focused organization committed to delivering high-quality projects while upholding the highest standards of environmental protection, occupational health, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance. Our operations emphasize risk prevention, sustainable development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across construction projects, facilities, and supporting business functions.

We believe that a strong Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) framework is essential to protecting employees, contractors, communities, and the environment. Through proactive risk management, effective governance, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, we strive to maintain safe working conditions and responsible environmental practices throughout every stage of our operations.

The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior EHS Compliance Specialist to oversee regulatory compliance, assess operational risks, and strengthen environmental, health, and safety management practices across construction projects and business operations.

In this role, you will monitor applicable legislation, coordinate compliance audits, evaluate workplace hazards, investigate incidents, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, consultants, and internal departments to ensure that EHS requirements are effectively integrated into operational procedures and project delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong regulatory knowledge, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex compliance obligations into practical, measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS compliance policies, procedures, standards, and management systems aligned with organizational objectives and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor relevant environmental, occupational health, and workplace safety legislation in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Track regulatory updates, industry standards, permit conditions, and contractual EHS requirements to identify potential compliance impacts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date register of applicable legal obligations, regulatory commitments, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational procedures, inspection criteria, and practical control measures.
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments across construction projects, facilities, offices, and operational activities.
  • Plan and coordinate internal EHS audits, external certification audits, client assessments, and regulatory inspections.
  • Develop audit schedules, checklists, evidence requirements, and standardized reporting procedures.
  • Identify nonconformities, regulatory gaps, unsafe practices, and weaknesses in existing control systems.
  • Prepare audit reports outlining findings, risk classifications, root causes, corrective actions, and implementation deadlines.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive action plans to ensure timely resolution of identified deficiencies.
  • Verify the effectiveness of completed actions through follow-up reviews, documentation checks, and supporting evidence.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, including frameworks aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 where applicable.
  • Review project-specific EHS plans, risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure EHS compliance requirements are incorporated into project planning, procurement, contractor onboarding, execution, and project closeout.
  • Evaluate operational hazards associated with construction activities, maintenance work, equipment operation, material handling, and site logistics.
  • Review job safety analyses and task-specific risk assessments for routine and non-routine activities.
  • Recommend appropriate risk-control measures based on the hierarchy of controls.
  • Assess permit-to-work systems covering high-risk activities such as hot work, confined-space entry, excavation, lifting operations, and electrical isolation.
  • Monitor compliance with working-at-height procedures, fall-prevention systems, scaffolding requirements, and access controls.
  • Review lifting plans, crane operations, rigging arrangements, equipment inspections, and suspended-load controls.
  • Evaluate excavation safety procedures, trench protection measures, ground-disturbance permits, and underground utility identification.
  • Assess electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, equipment isolation, and authorization requirements.
  • Review fire prevention arrangements, emergency access, fire protection equipment, and the safe storage of flammable materials.
  • Monitor the handling, labeling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous substances and chemicals.
  • Verify the availability and accuracy of safety data sheets, chemical risk assessments, and relevant exposure-control documentation.
  • Assess occupational health risks associated with noise, dust, heat stress, ergonomic hazards, and other workplace exposures.
  • Review heat-stress prevention arrangements and ensure relevant controls comply with applicable requirements.
  • Evaluate the selection, availability, maintenance, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Review emergency preparedness plans, evacuation procedures, emergency communication arrangements, and incident response protocols.
  • Coordinate emergency drill evaluations and monitor the completion of actions arising from identified weaknesses.
  • Assess environmental aspects and impacts associated with construction, maintenance, transportation, and facility operations.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental permits, waste-management obligations, discharge limits, and applicable environmental conditions.
  • Review waste segregation, storage, recycling, transportation, and disposal procedures.
  • Evaluate controls designed to prevent soil contamination, water pollution, excessive dust, uncontrolled emissions, and chemical releases.
  • Support environmental monitoring programs covering relevant air quality, wastewater, noise, dust, and other identified impacts.
  • Review spill prevention, containment, cleanup, and reporting arrangements for fuels, oils, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve water conservation, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible resource utilization.
  • Support the implementation of environmental objectives, sustainability initiatives, and measurable performance targets.
  • Review EHS documentation submitted by contractors and subcontractors before mobilization and throughout project execution.
  • Evaluate contractor competency records, training certificates, risk assessments, method statements, and other required compliance documentation.
  • Establish clear EHS performance expectations for suppliers, contractors, consultants, and external service providers.
  • Monitor contractor compliance through audits, inspection reports, incident records, and periodic performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, site supervisors, procurement teams, and facilities personnel to resolve compliance issues.
  • Provide technical guidance on EHS legislation, regulatory interpretation, operational requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver compliance briefings and awareness sessions covering regulatory obligations, hazard prevention, environmental protection, and safe work practices.
  • Develop training materials and guidance documents to improve EHS knowledge across relevant teams.
  • Support training-needs assessments and competency reviews for personnel performing safety-critical activities.
  • Review reports involving workplace injuries, near misses, occupational illnesses, property damage, and environmental incidents.
  • Coordinate or support incident investigations using structured fact-finding and root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Recommend corrective measures that address underlying causes and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
  • Analyze incident trends and recurring hazards to identify weaknesses in procedures, supervision, or operational controls.
  • Ensure reportable incidents and environmental events are escalated and documented in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, training, permits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Establish document-control practices that ensure EHS records remain current, traceable, secure, and accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of regulatory submissions, compliance reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop EHS dashboards and key performance indicators to monitor audit findings, incident rates, overdue actions, training completion, and compliance performance.
  • Analyze compliance data to identify emerging risks, recurring deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare periodic management reports summarizing compliance status, significant findings, risk exposure, and recommended actions.
