Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Salary: $130,000 annual About Hedera: Hedera is the decentralized governing body for the Hedera network, an enterprise-grade public distributed ledger technology (DLT) network that's fast, environmentally sustainable, and secure, making it well-suited to become an integral layer of the emerging web3 world. We are looking for hard-working, talented, and collegial people to help achieve this vision. Join us and say, "Hello future." About the Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A role The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A is a high-ownership individual contributor who helps turn financial and operating data into decisions. Reporting to the CFO, this senior IC has substantial autonomy and regular exposure to department heads, senior leadership, and the Board. The role owns recurring management reporting, supports the annual planning cadence, and builds decision-ready analysis. As context and trust develop, the analyst is expected to become the primary day-to-day owner for preparing departmental and Board reporting and pulling together the annual budget, with the CFO reviewing, challenging, and approving key outputs and leading final executive and Board messaging. This is a remote role aligned to Eastern Time collaboration hours, with minimal travel (1-2x per year), with a preference for within Canada. Growth in this role comes through responsibility and influence rather than an implied people-management track. Responsibilities Prepare recurring departmental and Board reporting ; maintain the reporting calendar, explain material variances, identify risks and opportunities, and turn analysis into concise, decision-ready materials. Act as the primary day-to-day coordinator for the annual budget and periodic forecasts ; maintain templates and assumptions, gather and challenge inputs, consolidate submissions, reconcile outputs, and communicate changes, with the CFO retaining final review and approval. Build integrated financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for resource allocation and other strategic questions ; make assumptions transparent, test sensitivities, and frame the tradeoffs behind each recommendation. Create repeatable, reviewable workflows using spreadsheets, SQL, Anaplan, Looker, and appropriate AI-enabled automation; validate data, protect confidential information, document assumptions, and retain human review. Build effective business partnerships with department leaders ; understand their performance drivers, help them interpret results, and improve the quality of financial inputs. Support audit, control, and diligence activities as needed ; maintain clear workpapers and improve finance processes where the benefit is meaningful. Distill complex analysis into polished, audience-appropriate materials for senior leaders and Board audiences. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the planning platform, reporting model, and finance data workflows. Skills 4+ years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, audit, transaction advisory / quality of earnings, investment banking, corporate finance, or another analytically demanding finance role. Strong command of the three financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and US GAAP. Strong spreadsheet and financial modelling capability, plus practical SQL experience or the ability to work directly with structured data. Experience with relevant planning, ERP, and BI stacks such as NetSuite, Anaplan, and Looker is helpful. Evidence of independent execution on recurring work with limited supervision, including managing dependencies, reviewing output, surfacing issues early, and closing loops. Executive communication skills; ability to adapt detail to the audience and produce polished materials for senior leaders and the Board. Control mindset with high standards for accuracy, traceability, and documentation without allowing perfectionism to slow decisions. Sound use of AI and automation tools to increase leverage while validating outputs, protecting sensitive information, and retaining human accountability. A CPA, CFA, MBA, or comparable qualification is a plus. Technology, digital assets, or fintech sector experience is a plus. Success Looks Like Within the first 90 days, the analyst understands the business model, reporting cadence, data sources, and stakeholders; recurring outputs are reliable; and practical improvements have been identified. Supports the 2027 Budget process. Within 6 months, department heads view the analyst as a trusted finance partner, and the analyst is the primary preparer and process owner for recurring departmental and Board reporting, with appropriate senior review. By the first full budget cycle, the analyst runs the day-to-day process end to end: calendar, assumptions, submissions, consolidation, first-pass challenge, scenarios, and executive-ready materials, with the SVP Finance retaining final approval.
