Senior Full-Stack Developer (Spring Boot & IBM ECM Specialist)

Smartedge Client is looking for an individual to help with their Senior Full-Stack Developer (Spring Boot & IBM ECM Specialist) @ Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid Working)

Job Description :

• We are seeking a versatile Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our core engineering team for a high-impact.
• This position offers a distinct 50/50 balance between modern, cloud-native engineering and enterprise content systems, requiring comfort across both backend APIs and frontend user interfaces.
• IBM Content Navigator Engineering (50%): Lead the technical delivery of a major customization initiative on IBM Content Navigator (ICN).
• Design and deploy custom desktops, features, request/response filters, menus, and layout components.
• Frontend Extensions: Write clean JavaScript leveraging the Dojo Toolkit to modify, extend, and inject custom widgets into the Content Navigator web interface.CM8 Backend Integration: Develop and optimize backend integrations to the underlying IBM Content Manager (CM8) repository using native CM8 Java APIs, handling complex item types, attributes, and data structures.
• Modern Microservices Development (50%): Design, build, and maintain containerized full stack microservices utilizing Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• API & Systems Integration: Implement robust RESTful APIs, secure event-driven integrations, and efficient data persistence layers.
• Performance & Lifecycle Management: Support the modernization strategy by ensuring seamless interoperability between legacy enterprise content storage and cutting-edge microservices.
• IBM ECM Specialist Stack (High Focus / Major Initial Project):
• Hands-on development experience with IBM Content Navigator (ICN) configuration, custom plug-in architecture, and extension points.
• Solid proficiency in JavaScript and the Dojo Toolkit (required for custom ICN desktop UI elements).In-depth understanding of the IBM Content Manager v8 (CM8) data model and native Java APIs (e.g., DKDatastoreICM).
• Comfort working alongside DBAs and System Administrators to deploy solutions on WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• Modern Backend & Microservices Stack:
• Strong expertise in Java 21 and modern language features.
• Deep proficiency across the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Data, Spring Security).Proven experience building, deploying, and scaling containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred qualifications / "nice to have":

• Experience deploying microservices into enterprise cloud environments or Red Hat OpenShift container platforms.
• Experience architecting solutions that bridge legacy enterprise repositories with decoupled, modern microservice layers.
• Strong debugging and reverse-engineering skills when working with complex enterprise APIs
