Job Title: Senior Gas Distribution Pressure Monitoring Specialist

Location: United Arab Emirates (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote — Work From Home

Level: Senior

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Gas Distribution Pressure Monitoring Specialist to support the monitoring, analysis, and optimization of pressure performance across gas distribution networks. This role focuses on reviewing pressure telemetry, analyzing operational trends, identifying abnormal pressure conditions, and supporting network reliability through data-driven recommendations.

The successful candidate will assess pressure measurements from remote monitoring systems, investigate deviations from established operating parameters, evaluate trends across distribution zones, and prepare technical reports for engineering and operations teams. The position is entirely remote and requires strong knowledge of gas distribution systems, pressure regulation principles, instrumentation data, and operational risk awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the remote analysis of pressure monitoring data across gas distribution networks and designated monitoring zones.
  • Review pressure readings from telemetry systems, remote terminal units (RTUs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) platforms, and pressure monitoring instruments.
  • Monitor pressure trends at network entry points, district regulator stations, distribution mains, and other designated measurement locations.
  • Identify abnormal pressure fluctuations, sustained deviations, unexpected pressure drops, and unusual operating patterns.
  • Analyze pressure profiles against approved operating limits, engineering specifications, and established network performance criteria.
  • Investigate recurring pressure anomalies using historical data, telemetry records, maintenance reports, and available network information.
  • Assess pressure regulator performance indicators and identify potential signs of instability or deterioration through available monitoring data.
  • Evaluate relationships between network demand, supply conditions, ambient temperature, and pressure variation.
  • Review pressure monitoring coverage and recommend improvements to measurement points, reporting frequency, and data availability.
  • Validate pressure data for completeness, consistency, accuracy, and potential instrumentation or communication errors.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical reports covering pressure stability, alarm frequency, monitoring availability, and exception resolution.
  • Support trend analysis and forecasting to identify potential pressure management challenges during periods of changing demand.
  • Collaborate remotely with network engineers, control room personnel, instrumentation specialists, and maintenance teams to investigate reported anomalies.
  • Review pressure-related incident records and support root-cause analysis through documentary evidence and historical data.
  • Recommend improvements to monitoring thresholds, alarm classification, exception reporting, and data quality controls for review by authorized operations personnel.
  • Assess the impact of planned network changes, demand variations, and equipment maintenance on recorded pressure performance.
  • Support the evaluation of pressure monitoring technologies, instrumentation upgrades, and telemetry integration projects.
  • Maintain technical records, monitoring summaries, exception logs, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Contribute to operational performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives focused on distribution network reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance to colleagues on pressure data interpretation, monitoring methodologies, and analytical reporting standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in gas distribution, pipeline operations support, pressure monitoring, instrumentation, or network performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of natural gas distribution systems, pressure regulation, distribution mains, and network operating principles.
  • Knowledge of pressure measurement technologies, including pressure transmitters, gauges, sensors, and remote telemetry devices.
  • Experience reviewing SCADA data, RTU records, operational dashboards, or other industrial monitoring platforms.
  • Understanding of pressure regulator stations, pressure reduction systems, and associated monitoring parameters.
  • Ability to interpret pressure trends, identify abnormal readings, and distinguish potential process anomalies from data quality issues.
  • Familiarity with gas network operating limits, technical specifications, and relevant safety management principles.
  • Experience with time-series data analysis, alarm monitoring, exception investigation, and performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical reporting tools; experience with SQL, Power BI, or industrial data analytics platforms is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret pipeline network diagrams, instrumentation documentation, process flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of instrumentation calibration records, telemetry reliability, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Knowledge of operational risk assessment, incident documentation, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly when handling complex pressure datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to engineering and operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
  • Relevant professional engineering qualifications or certifications in gas operations, instrumentation, or process safety are an advantage.
What We Offer
  • A 100% remote, work-from-home opportunity based in the UAE.
  • The opportunity to support the reliability and performance of critical gas distribution infrastructure.
  • Exposure to industrial telemetry, pressure monitoring technologies, and operational analytics.
  • A collaborative environment involving engineering, instrumentation, and network operations professionals.
  • Opportunities for professional development in pipeline monitoring, process analytics, and gas distribution systems.
How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit an updated CV highlighting their experience in gas distribution systems, pressure monitoring, SCADA platforms, instrumentation data analysis, and technical reporting.
