Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior GCP Cloud Migration Engineer to join our dynamic cloud engineering team. This role is critical in architecting, building, and configuring scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and leading complex cloud migration initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in migrating enterprise workloads from VMware environments to GCP, leveraging automation tools and infrastructure as code practices. This position demands a proactive, hands-on engineer who collaborates effectively with delivery leads and multiple vendors to ensure seamless migration and cloud adoption.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and configure secure, scalable, and resilient GCP cloud environments tailored to business needs.
• Lead and execute end-to-end migration projects from VMware to GCP, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Utilize Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate cloud resource provisioning and management.
• Perform hands-on migration activities, including the Migrate to Virtual Machines (M2VM) process, to transition workloads efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with delivery leads, cross-functional teams, and third-party vendors to coordinate migration efforts and resolve technical challenges.
• Implement best practices for cloud security, governance, and cost optimization throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cloud infrastructure post-migration to enhance performance and reliability.
• Document migration processes, architecture designs, and operational procedures to support ongoing cloud operations.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to enhance cloud migration strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
• 6+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on GCP.
• Proven experience in migrating workloads from VMware environments to GCP, with demonstrable success in M2VM migrations.
• Deep understanding of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for cloud resource automation.
• Hands-on experience building and configuring complex cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, storage, and compute services within GCP.
• Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Cloud Engineer, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and vendors.
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
