Mediq UK is a leading supplier of healthcare consumables, medical equipment, cleaning and hygiene products, and healthcare devices to hospitals, care homes, and healthcare providers across the UK. As part of the international Mediq Group, we operate in 13 countries and employ more than 2,500 people globally, all dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes and making care more accessible and affordable.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join Mediq and become our dedicated HR presence across Ireland.
Location: Dublin, Republic of Ireland
Salary: €50,000 to €55,000 + car allowance
Working model: Hybrid, with regular travel across Ireland and occasional travel to UK locations
Based in Dublin and supporting colleagues across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, this is a broad generalist HR role combining hands-on employee relations and manager support with the opportunity to play an important part in business growth, organisational change, acquisitions and integration.
You’ll work closely with our Ireland leadership team, Head of HR UK & Ireland and wider HR colleagues to ensure our people practices, capability and HR infrastructure continue to evolve as the business grows.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor looking for greater autonomy, exposure to business transformation and the opportunity to make a visible impact.
What you’ll be doing
As our Senior HR Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR matters across Ireland, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to managers and colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance cases.
- Coaching managers to confidently manage their teams and take ownership of people matters.
- Supporting organisational change, restructuring and evolving organisational structures.
- Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, talent, succession and early careers activity alongside the wider HR team.
- Supporting reward processes including salary reviews, benchmarking and benefits.
- Coordinating local engagement, wellbeing, learning and culture initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate HR data, employee lifecycle processes and HR reporting.
- Ensuring HR policies and practices remain appropriate and compliant across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
- Monitoring employment legislation and providing practical advice to the business.
- Providing people data and insight to help Ireland leadership make informed decisions.
You’ll also work with leadership to ensure our workforce planning, recruitment, organisational capability and people processes keep pace with the growth of the Ireland business.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong hands-on HR experience with the confidence and commercial awareness to operate independently.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong generalist HR experience at HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor level.
- Significant employee relations and case-management experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of Republic of Ireland employment practices.
- Experience supporting organisational change.
- Strong manager coaching and stakeholder-management skills.
- The confidence to operate autonomously while remaining connected to a wider UK&I HR team.
- A commercially minded approach and an understanding of operational business priorities.
- Strong HR data and analytical capability.
- Experience working within a matrix or international organisation.
- Flexibility to travel across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Experience that would be a real advantage
Previous experience of M&A, acquisitions or business integration would be particularly valuable, as would exposure to:
- Employee transfers and TUPE/transfer of undertaking activity.
- Northern Ireland employment practices.
- Organisational design and restructuring.
- HR systems such as SuccessFactors.
- Integrating previously independent businesses into a larger organisation.
A relevant HR qualification and/or equivalent professional experience would also be expected.
Why join Mediq?
This is more than a traditional Senior HR Advisor position.
You’ll have the opportunity to become a trusted HR partner to our Ireland business, combining operational HR delivery with exposure to growth, organisational transformation and M&A integration.
You’ll have genuine ownership of the local HR agenda, while benefiting from the support and expertise of the wider UK&I HR team and an international organisation.
For someone who enjoys being close to the business, building relationships with managers and employees, solving problems and helping organisations successfully navigate change, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.
Interested? Apply today and help us shape the next stage of Mediq’s growth across Ireland.
